Chapter 10 Closer
She had caught him off guard. She jumped onto the trunk of the car and climbed onto the roof, he slammed on the accelerator and heard her slide off it. Her hand came through the windshield near the passenger side.
"Die," Jade yelled.
She pulled herself up on the car. Her teeth grinding with anger. She sent her other hand in through the windshield and slashed at his face with her nails. His driving swerved, it was working. She held on tighter, he accelerated faster. She pulled up on the roof of the car. Her arm had more room and she reached deeper, she felt him and lashed out.
The car swung to the right, hard. She rolled. It hit a small tree and the headlight shattered. He tried to steer it back onto the driveway but she kept clawing. He hit another one. Shards of glass rained down the hood and through the broken windshield into the cab.
He swung to the right suddenly. Jade rolled, her leg lost grip on the roof and dangled over his window. He grabbed it and she screamed. He tugged at it. She started to lose grip, she moved her other hand from in front of his face to the roof trying to hold on. Her grip was tight and her flesh bit into the little remnants of the windshield left around the edges.
He pulled hard at her leg.
"Aaah, no please," she yelled.
She bent her knee, his grip tightened on her calf. She kicked into the car repeatedly. He grunted, loud, the car swerved hard to the right. It knocked over a few trees, branches clawed at Jade on the roof as she screamed. In the headlights she saw the brook and a moment later she felt the car plunge into it.
