USM Junkies are suspects who have been known to frequent Unsolved Mysteries & leave many incriminating submissions indicating that they have classified knowledge of the abstract side of life. These people tend to be unusually funny, creative, friendly, supportive and at times facetious. They are armed with high tech keyboards & concealed mice & they meet at varied times in their online chat HQ where they discuss theories on the unknown. Their experience and knowledge covers items like ufo's, ghosts, esp, & much more. Contact with this group is at your own risk!

• They welcome new users
• They help with questions or problems
• They monitor the Chat room to make sure that things are going as intented (No arguements or bad language, etc.).
• They report any site, or user problems to management
• They review profile messages, new stories and comments as well as deleting inappropriate posts.
• They Help choosing people for new admins, awards and other things.

Depending upon the type of admin we are seeking we consider some, most or all of the following to determine the qualified Admin.
1. How nice they are to the other people on USM.
2. How long that person has been coming to Unsolved Mysteries.
3. How well we think that person will be able to represent our site.
4. How many good stories and comments the person has submitted to our site.
5. How much the person likes to read the stories on the site. Some of our Admin's read hundreds of stories that come in every day and thoursands of comments.

If you are interested we will check what you have done here and put you on the list (for when we choose another volunteer).

However, there are things that you can do any day to help USM.

1. Giving comments to the stories on the We Need Replies button (those are stories that the authors didn't get many responses).
2. Welcoming new users and helping them in chat.
3. Getting to know the people in chat in a friendly manor.

Before you post any kind of story here at USM, here is basically what is looked for and the rules that apply to your postings. This may not be a complete listing of all guidelines and may be updated as needed, so please bookmark this for future reference.

1. No swearing at any time. This also means that you cannot use any symbols such as *** or #@$, or other symbols to take the place of any letter in a swear word. There are many other ways that are more polite to get your points across to the readers. No Exceptions.

2. URL's in a post. A URL that points to a site that is not "G" rated or does not contain any information related to the post then the URL will be removed, the post might also be deleted and if it is not a "G" rated site your account may also be cancelled.

3. Profile messages are not private and are monitored. There is no place on USM that is private, Nor does USM hold a privacy clause. Some Administrators have the ability to read all that is posted on the USM Website. There is no tolerance for harrassment or profanity in the profile of a USM Member. Accounts could be terminated if this is violated after being verbally warned one time.

4. All stories should be more than one paragraph in length, to make it appealing to the readers (With the exception of Quotes, Jokes, Riddles and where it makes sense). No explicit sexual content of any kind is allowed in any post or story or poetry, comments or profile messages. Stories that are of original thoughts from the author are desired, but posts about birthdays, real events, and poetry at times, will be accepted if only one or two sentences in length, and the above guidelines are adhered to within these postings. All stories must include a title, no story can hold the title "Untitled", "Please read this", "Untitled, please read", "I do not know what to title this", or any title close in comparison to these examples. Pick some words out of the story or poem and make it the title. Because the titles are what brings a person to your post put a good title on it or one of the admins might do it for you. :D

5. We really don't want any posts that give out anyone's alias name in a post that could cause harm or maliscious intent to that person. That posting will be deleted, and the author that posted such a story may jeopardize their account with USM for this action.

6. No posting of stories are allowed that questions the actions of any decision of any Administrator or other member. If you feel that you have a question or a problem to report, please put a message to Admin and ask that they look into the problem. Having the USM URL for that story would be greatly helpful and save time for reviewing for you, thus giving you a quicker response. The Message to Admin (msg to admin) button is on the homepage and is only available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. You will have to post your grievance with them on these days only. For the record, the Psychic Advice Column button is also only available on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays too.

7. USM is not a billboard for any reason. This website's main purpose is for putting your stories here for others' to read. The only billboard category is the USM events, it is used for a member's birthday, a new tag recieved, or an alias name change and USM events.

8. Chat Room behavior is to be "G" Rated. Again, no swearing of any kind is tolerated. No name calling, no vulgarities. No harassment to another member. No Religious "wars" are tolerated in the chat room. Friendly conversations are encouraged. Anyone misuse of the chat room will be removed by an admin. Removing one from the chat room can be done in one of three ways, either for three minutes, a full day, or complete termination of the account and after a termination the Member will not be able to return to USM at all, unless there is a letter of apology sent to the creators of USM explaining your situation and circumstance. 9. The jokes and humor categories must be "G" rated as well. No profanity or sexual suggestive tones are tolerated and will be deleted. If you are using the riddles, there must be an answer posted to this riddle or the post will be deleted.

10. We do not permit "I'm leaving USM because " posts. We hope that you will reconsider and try to work things out. We have many admins and you might try to locate one and express your feelings. Try to remember that the admins try to do their best for all of the members. So they may not do what they would want to do because they are trying to do what they need to do. If your feelings are hurt, remember that nobody want's that to happen and infact we all want you to have a fun time and make lots of friends. If you are leaving due to things unrelated to USM then the post may be permitted to remain. Thank you for understanding.

11. The word Hate as in groups of innocent people.. meaning discrimination.. not allowed.

12. The In The News section is for news stories from credible/mainstream news sources. Examples of credible news sources include but are not limited to: Reuters, CNN, MSNBC, Associated Press, BBC, Washington Times and The New York Post

13. Conspiracy Theories:Stories that may lack 100% credibility, are not from mainstream media and cannot be verified 100%.

14. It is highly suggested that you put a maximum of 5 pictures in your post. This helps people with slow connections.

Hate as in someone you know personally or on USM.. not allowed.
Hate as in someone you don't know personally and won't get you into trouble .. probably allowed.

Remember our goal is for everyone to have an enjoyable experience at our site.

First, you may only have 1 name tag, because you should only have 1 USM account. This is so that people do not feel deceived by thinking they are talking to more than one person. If we find out that you have more than one account we will have to cancel all but your oldest account.

Name tags are a gift, they cannot be earned or purchased. They are given (as thanks) to those individules that frequently visit our site and contribute to the site in the form of comments and/or stories.

Name tags are visible in the comments you leave on each story (even the comments you entered before you had a name tag). This is the primary reason for having a name tag.

All snazzy name tags are created by hand and it can take hours so we want to make sure that the name tags are going to frequent USM visitors.

This is demonstrated to us by a number of different things.
1. Length of time as a USM member (at least 2 months).
2. Number of times you visited the site.
3. You have filled out (some) information on your USM junkies page. The button for that is on the home page.
4. Number of good comments (4+words each) you contribute. Should be at least 100.

When you are ready for your name tag:
1. Go to your profile (USM Junkies Profile)
2. Click on "Check Comments and Tag eligibility" Link...
3. If you are eligibile click on "Request your tag" link.

Please include any suggestions you would like to be considered when creating your name tag.
Note: Suggestions will only be considered, due to size requirements we are greatly limited as to what can be included on a name tag.

1. Contain profain language or innuendo (level to be interpreted by the Admin)
2. Do not contain interesting content. (Don't pertain to the story or contain Insults or "Junk").
3. Do not "fit" into the subject matter for the site.
4. If the story is not interesting to the majority of our visitors.

If you have your story or comment deleted assume it was done by Admin(red) the creator of the site. You may send him a message using the Msg-to-Admin button on the home page.
