Give a call to a reliable, apolitical, government agency. It sounds like your employer is underfunded and won't take steps to contain the outbreak because they just can't afford to or the stockholders don't want to take a hit. Your health is as much at stake as those seniors that have been entrusted to the care of the facility you work for. |

Date: 8/22/2024 8:44:00 PM From Authorid: 63962 well it definitely sounds like you should tell SOMEBODY. Who that somebody is, I'm not sure. Only idea that comes to me is to give an anonymous "report" to whoever the higher up administration is of the facility, the headquarters as it were. Ideally they are off -site. |
Date: 8/26/2024 10:38:00 AM From Authorid: 40979 Maybe reach out to your local health department? The CDC has updated their quarantine guidelines...Now they say you can return to normal activities after you've been fever free for 24 hours and have no new symptoms. This could be the reason why they are not quarantining any of your residents. However, they should still be requiring your residents to mask up *common sense*. I also work in an assisted living facility. Although the CDC has changed their guidelines, my company has not. They still require Covid positive employees to quarantine at home for a minimum of 5 days, but masks are optional once the employee has returned to work. As far as residents go, we have not had any residents test positive since January, but I am assuming the guidelines will be the same for our residents as they are for the employees. If I were you, I would definitely mask up and keep some hand sanitizer with you. I hope the health department can give you some better answers. |

Date: 9/3/2024 9:32:00 PM From Authorid: 67845 Honestly, due to the risk that COVID-19 can have on the human body, up to and including death, I would say something to the health department. Though Covid-19 is considered "old news" it still can take lives, especially those of already compromised immune systems such as those who live in an assisted living facility or retirement home. Best of luck, and realistically do what you feel is right. ~Juniper |
Date: 10/9/2024 11:59:00 PM From Authorid: 48250 Hi CP, great to see You——-I would definitely take measures to Protect Yourself——and clearly the assisted living facility is recklessly & negligently ignoring the residents health & well being including their employees———That’s a Huge Violation——I would make that call, anonymous if necessary——Best Wishes!…..T/C |
