Grace comes into the soul, as the morning sun into the world; first a dawning; then a light; and at last the sun in his full and excellent brightness.
Whatever trouble come on you, of mind, body, or estate, from within or from without, from chance or from intent, from friends or foes-whatever your trouble be, though you be lonely, O children of a heavenly Father, be not afriad!
Raise your heart continually to God, seek His aid, and let the foundation stone of your consolation be your happiness in being his. All vexations and annoyances will be comparatively unimportant while you know that you have such a Friend, such a Stay, such a Refuge. May God be ever in your heart.
