The school year flew on and life was looking good. There was a month till prom and six weeks till graduation. It was April 23, Jas’s 18th birthday. Ashley had planned a huge surprise for him at her house. Her dad was away on vacation so she took the basement room and surrounded it with candles placing a table in the middle and cooked a nice dinner.
At nine o’clock Jas came over and she led him downstairs. On the table sat a note with a silver chain and a diamond stud for his ear. Walking down he walked over to it and looked at what was left. Along with the gifts was two plates one for her and one for him. It was his favorite meal roast beef with mashed potatoes and gravy. He smiled and kissed her. “You didn’t have to do this love,” he said pulling out her chair for her to sit down. Sitting down she smiled, “I wanted something to make it a nice night for you and me. Plus it’s are 10 month tomorrow so I figured it would be sweet,” Ashley said smiling as he sat down across from her. They both sat down and ate talking about the last few months together and about the upcoming events in their life. They had a lot to prepare for with prom, graduation and whatever came after that.
Grabbing the remote that was next to her she turned on the stereo to a Monica CD and put on “Angel of Mine.” Jas smiled and stood up walking over to her and taking her hand. Slowly they both started to dance. “You know Ashley you are probably the most amazing thing to ever happen to me,” he said holding her close to him.
She laughed to herself and looked at him with a huge smile. “Jas you don’t have to tell me that because the same is held for you. These last 10 months have been great. I have never been so happy. It’s like a miracle,” she said kissing him.
They continued to kiss walking up toward her bedroom. Kissing more then lied down in her bed. You would expect something sexual to go on especially considering the romantic dinner and everything but that was far from what occurred. Jas lied down and pulled her close to him kissing her forehead. “You don’t know happy I am just to be able to have you here with me right now,” he said smiling. She kissed him and rested her head on his chest. “Trust me love I know. You going to stay tonight,” she asked closing her eyes to rest. He smiled and nodded, “Of course I am. I told my parents I would most likely anyway and then didn’t seem to have a problem with it.” He kissed her forehead again and relaxed. “I love you,” Jas said as he closed his eyes to sleep. Ashley sighed softly then whispered back, “I love you too.”
Slowly they both fell asleep. It was like one of those pictures in the movies. Her lying in his arms with her head on his chest and his arms wrapped around her holding her. They woke up right before the sunrise and walk out onto the back deck to watch it. It was beautiful the sky showed a lovely purple, pink and orange. Just like it did that night on the beach about 10 months ago. They sat there on the back porch till the sun was full in the sky.
They ended up staying at her house all weekend and not going anywhere. Jas’s parents didn’t seem to care so it seemed like it would be fine. They took sometime to hang out, talk, and just joke around about different things.
“Jas what are you planning to do once this whole graduation thing is over with,” Ashley asked him as she walked over to get a drink from the fridge.
“I don’t know yet. I know you are going to California so I was thinking maybe I will come down that way with you and we can get a place there. If not then I’ll just stay around here and work. You know college ain’t my thing hun,” he said watching her from the table.
She smiled and sat next to him. “We will see what works best love. Worse comes to worse I come back for one month in winter and two weeks in spring. Then I come home good for summer. Maybe you come down there a few times. We will see,” she said smiling.
All she wanted to focus on right now was her love for him. The future would fit together, it would fit together perfectly. She knew it, it was like a six sense type of thing.
