A Message of Love From the Otherside.............Garbage

Yesterday I took care of four of my grandchildren and after we got out of the pool my 6 year old granddaughter and I were sitting on the front porch swing. While we were chatting my 7 year old grandson came out of the house and stood in front of me and asked me how old I am. I looked at him and said, "that is a question you shouldn't ask a woman", and I laughed a little and said nothing else. He said, "are you 40, 50?", and I still didn't answer him, just kind of shrugged it off. He then sat next to me on the swing and said, "I'm 70, no 50, no I'm 70." I looked at him and tried to understand why he would say such a thing.

I should tell you that my grandson has always reminded me of my brother, Fred, who died in 1988. He looks a lot like him and has many of the same mannerisms as my brother, plus he is the ONLY grandchild who stares at a self-portrait of my brother--has looked at the painting every since he was a tiny toddler.

Now, going back to yesterday, I realized my brother died on August 12th at the age of 51 and he would be 70 years old if he were still alive, plus I was in my early 40's when he died. To top it off, my birthday is coming up in early September and I truly believe this is a birthday wish to me from my brother.

I think it's awesome how children can have such a connection with those loved ones from the otherside.

I have gotten other messages from Fred but not this strongly through my grandson, I love it!
