This is the last post on our series in spiritual warfare... I hope it has helped someone, I know it has helped me.
OVERCOMING DEFEAT
Even if this warfare against us has brought us to this final stage DEFEAT, and has brought such devastation in our lives, we must see that GOD can still bring us to ultimate victory again! Paul commented to the Corinthians that he had been "struck down, but not destroyed" (II Corinthians 4:9) At one point, Paul faced such severe attacks that he "despaired of life," but through it all he learned that the secret of regaining victory was not in trusting in himself but in "God who raises the dead" (II Corinthians 1:8-9)
Paul wrote, "Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ" (I Corinthians 15:57) and "For in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us" (Romans 8:37) Defeat is not an option in Christ. We will gain the victory in that which He has called us to do. The only way we can be defeated is to quit.
A personal note I want to add to all this because this is the last post of this series... If you find yourself at any of these stages or even feeling defeated, I URGE you not to feel bad about yourself!!! I have been there too... We ALL sin and we ALL get discouraged... The main thing is that we learn something from the situation, we know who is REALLY behind it all, and we determine that we are going to be more on the alert the next time...
