I think public humiliation would do the trick

Just a thought... maybe I should have another cup of coffee before I post something... LOL! OK, I see alot of nasty replies being left by anonymous USMers. Maybe we should adopt some kind of rule... ppl cannot leave replies without opening an account. ??? And is there any way to limit ppl to 1 account? Technologically apt, I ain't but... If ppl had to take responsibility for the things they write by having their name and author id # next to their words maybe we'd have a lot less antagonistic comments flying around.

Date: 3/2/2001 7:49:00 AM  From Authorid: 5353    I fully support this suggestion, and it's not the first time it's been brought up. This site has grown so much since I started here that people are getting careless towards other's feelings. If people were forced to identify themselves before speaking, they would be more hesitant to say insulting things. Plus, the admins can stop anyone who repeatedly caused trouble, they have was of blocking/killing accounts.
Date: 3/2/2001 8:07:00 AM  From Authorid: 15677    i aggre but i always use my name im one and the only....
Date: 3/2/2001 8:18:00 AM  From Authorid: 21203    Great idea!
Date: 3/2/2001 9:01:00 AM  From Authorid: 24574    i think that would be a great idea because sometimes people are hesitant about posting thing and when the do they dont want insults they want nice replies i know that if i were to post my stories which i do id want to have kind replies not nasty insults . nobodysfool
Date: 3/2/2001 9:45:00 AM  From Authorid: 7683    I agree, people should have to sign up, so they would be accountable for their words and actions.
Date: 3/2/2001 11:18:00 AM  From Authorid: 24557    It does suck that people hide behind anonymity as they say their nasty comments but owell, they're the silly ones. I have had a very NICE comment from someone who had no author ID. Pink Bubbles
Date: 3/2/2001 11:22:00 AM  From Authorid: 18223    true...we have discussed among all of us numerous times and for some reason it hasn't been changed. or at least not to my knowledge, BUT we do have the power to delete msg's if they aren't in the debate column, and if they are then we really should have the right to delete the comments rude or not. it is just showing the person's ignorance, and we shouldn't get mad we should pity them....love, lollipop
Date: 3/2/2001 11:40:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 14272    Yes, lollipop, I agree. I use my deleating powers on rude replies but I've seen others get their feelngs hurt by some one's nastiness.
Date: 3/2/2001 11:56:00 AM  From Authorid: 20296    i wish that were possible also after all the account is free and why wouldn't any one want to check the place out with an account unless they have something ugly to say
Date: 3/2/2001 1:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 277    The people who are leaving comments that are not logged in "can" be deleted. We can use that feature to delete any comments that we want to. What type of responsibility are we taking by leaving a name and author id#? I leave many comments in a day and no one has come knocking on my door yet. Author id's or not, people should be able to comment. Also, as for limiting people to one account, my husband and I are both members here and we share the same email address. Does that mean one of us would have to leave because only one account per person/email address? I can't say that I agree with you
Date: 3/2/2001 1:28:00 PM  From Authorid: 26400    I agree ~Devils*fire~
Date: 3/2/2001 3:43:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 14272    Hawk, I think that some peoople are hiding by not having an author id #. That's all. And no, I think that a husband and wife duo should each have their own account. :-)
Date: 3/2/2001 4:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 27118    If people are going to say mean and offending things they should be bold enough to stand behind their words. Just my opinion.SPEEDRACER
Date: 3/3/2001 9:52:00 AM  From Authorid: 13437    that sounds lika an awsome idea mommy!!!great thinking!!!!!
Date: 3/4/2001 10:04:00 AM  From Authorid: 277    I think that when people who are not logged on leave a comment they are more honest than the average person would be logged on. I would rather get a really honest comment from a person who is not logged on, than the average person with a displayed author id telling me "good job" or "nice post" when they might really be thinking, "This really sucked, but I'll be nice!"
Date: 4/9/2001 3:26:00 PM    Great rule
Date: 4/9/2001 3:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 24924    Every message board that I have ever gone to, you cannot post anything IF you are NOT a member, so I do not understand WHY that is allowed here????
Administrators reply? The Thinker

Date: 6/29/2001 4:01:00 AM  From Authorid: 8374    that sounds like a great idea and i'm glad that we have it now
Date: 7/20/2005 2:51:00 PM  From Authorid: 16376    glad we don't have this problem anymore!
