"In the Dark of the Night"..............................~Breezey

Alone, I venture through this confusing land
Slowly picking my path in the dark of the night
Traveling with my thoughts into unforeseen places
A journey I cannot face whenever there is light

Each of my movements are carefully planned
Gingerly I step with one foot then the other
Speed is of little concern to me in this place
Only my needs to continue down the path further

While in the dark, images of things I am able to avoid
Situations lurking in the shadows cannot hinder me
But if I do not reach my destiny before dawn's light
Then I must stop for fear of that which in light I will see

During the daylight hours I succumb to my fears
And it is then that I find a place for myself to hide
Out of sight from all that are near and hovering
Concealed from everything that causes pain inside

When the sun sets and the darkness begins to cover the sky
Once again I return to the path and continue my journey
Desperately trying to understand the conflicts within my mind
Of the thoughts overtaking my life and soul to some degree

I feel once my destiny is reached and the journey has ended
I'll be able to face all that is shown to me, presented in daylight
And all that is encompassed there within waiting patiently for me
But until then, I shall continue through life in the dark of the night
