This all happened years before I was born so I have no first person information about it concidering the two principal sources of the story are now dead I realy dont know how much waight it should carry but it is a family ledgend...My Mother and father were married for about 1 year and my mother found out she was pregnent with my older brother everyone in the family was very happy...most espesaly her Father (my grandfather) but about the same time that she found out she was pregnant he discovered he had termminal cancer and there was little hope he would live beyond 6 months...grampa told my grandma(who latter told me the story)that he prayed every day that he would be able to live to see his newest grandson born...he know it was going to be a boy he said... of course he had a 50/50 chance of guessing right! But as the summer faded so did my grandpa's health...He was bedrideen by thanksgiving and the baby was not due till after christmas...no one held out hope that he would hold or even see his grandson...IT was 2 weeks before Christmas as he laied dieing in his bed with my mother and father and grandma by his side he struggling for each breath he looked to my grandma and said "who is that little boy playing in the cornor?" he pointed to an empty chair in the cornor of the room. Grandma thought nothing of it he was having truble berathing perhaps it was a dream but he insisted and discribed the little red headed boy, puggy, with emerald green eyes kicking his feet as thay dangled not reaching the ground as he sat in the big chair and playing with a toy airplane. Everyone looked at eachother knowing the end was near and seeing grandpa loosing his sences like this was very destressing for the family. Finaly grandpa said "come here boy give grandpa a hug" he held out his hand he then looked down like he held a little baby in his arms and looked up at my grandma and said in tears with grin "He's Beautiful" thouse were his last words...he went to sleep and he died before the sun rose the next morning

My brother was born 3 weeks latter, He still is pudgy and has red hair and ther brightest emerald green eyes I have ever seen. PatrickO

How it changed my life:

It didn't ...this is one of thouse family ledgends that can be expleined away any number of ways but it makes for good stroytelling...

Date: 2/15/2001 6:03:00 PM  From Authorid: 27054    As people die they can see things that we can not see. I used to see people die a in a nursing home, people think that you are old it's all in their heads, it's not. There's is thing there, we are not able to see it. I knew of a lady that was in so much, I walked in her room and she was at peace, her skin color was rosie, she had a smile ear to ear,I asked her who she was smilingat, she said it was Jesus and Mary they said that everything was going to be fine, 2 wks later she die.
