Quest II....Back To Camp....by StormTracker5

A shadow grew beneath the moon's glow
As each drew swords until it did show
Wings like a bird and a huge golden mane
A winged-lion who appeared quite tame

A rather large beast none have seen before
As it approaced Glardon, and sat upon forest floor
Glardon gave the beast a loving pat on the head
Profelius and men thankful they were not dead

Glardon spoke words that all knew true
"I see my pet Tarma has frightened each of you
She is a gentle creature, please come and see
With opened hand each of you approach slowly"

Profelius and his men did as they were told
Even shy little Dagraunt ventured to be bold
Each of the men approached the creature so grand
As it gave an approving sniff at each hand

"Glardon, your pet, Tarma is a beautiful thing
I can see in your eyes the happiness she does bring
One thing I must say for our own good
We must head to camp deeper in the wood"

"Sire, your words ring quite true
Off we go then, we will follow you"
A giant, winged-lion, and the king's men
Profelius and Dagraunt walking the forest again

Deeper into the wood each of them did go
Spying in the distance, a fire's warm glow
Proflius approached the camp with care
To let his men know that he was there

"Sire, we thought harm had befallen you
We were forming a plan on what we should do
We came across two troll bodies upon the ground
You and the other's were nowhere to be found"

"You men were brave and quite wise"
Profelius' words, as horror filled the guards eyes
A giant and winged-lion is what they saw
Each grabbing their weapons before death did fall

"Profelius shouted, "LAY DOWN YOUR SWORDS MEN
I have brought us a new found friend
Glardon and Tarma will accompany us on this quest
Having them in our company will be best"

Profelius' men soon put their swords down
Gathering around the fire, sitting on the ground
Sharing a meal, talking like long lost brother's
Each enjoying the company of the others

Profelius' final words came late into the night
"We must rest now, for we move again at first light"
Each one agreeing and bidding pleasant dreams
As silence settled upon this peaceful scene...
