Hi! I'm new here, but my Pop used to be a vet (before he retired Well, anyway he would say that most animals are much smarter than people think. A dog for instance he said has the brain capacity of a two or three year old. I know it doesn't sound like much, but have you ever had to watch a two year old. Those little guys are scarily smart!! LOL Sounds like you have a great puppy. USB |

Hey.. keep an eye on that pooch.. A friend of mine's sister had an irish setter. They were told the dog was retarded. Funny though..one weekend we were supposed to watch the animals & house for her sister..We came home that evening to find that the dog had somehow gotten the jar of peanut butter off the top of the refrigerator & actually opened the jar!!! didn't break it! somehow screwed off the lid! We died laughing cause we walked in & saw his nose in the jar. Funny thing is.. we thought..for a retarded dog he knows how to open a jar! |

Most animals are smart. Most mammals have a very high intelligence. For example, the dolphin, they have their own language, live in a society, and even play to amuse themselves (a quality only displayed by beings with intelligence). The exception to just mammals being smart is parrots. The African Grey parrot has the brain capacity of a five year old human. They can learn to speak our language and attach meaning to it, most other parrot species can to. Peace -HH |

What a wonderful, wonderful animal! But then, we are all animals of one sort or another, I suppose. So, I guess I should say, what a wonderful dog. And he certainly sounds like an old soul that has been here a few times before to me. Very observant of you to notice. Especially the winking. Lightworker |

Yep, my Rhodesian Ridgeback watches TV while I am at work, he even somehow turns it on -I still haven't worked it out. But he is truly watching and taking it all in, it looks very funny. He is alot like a human, but using the "but I'm a dog" look seems to be his favourite , but I don't fall for it I know he is trying to trick me sometimes. LOL. Little Lisa... |
