Date: 2/12/2001 9:08:00 PM From Authorid: 11723 I hear her cries constantly. Because of what I do I hear her cries. Some of us expect a cataclysmic cleansing she will do. I don't know yet. That is what a lot of feelings are. |
Date: 2/12/2001 9:19:00 PM From Authorid: 20296 this is a beautiful prayer LSG i too think often what i do to mother earth and it is aweful. i always try to start new habits and always seem to miserably fail. we have became quite wasteful, with resorces that have limits. i am actually going to make a list of liitle steps to take to change, it will take some time, but i am going to make it right within my own home first, than other's as well i will let ya know, if you are interested what i plan on doind first it will all be seeming simple at first. i think the first thing i will do, is enjoy the food that the earth has provided by giving thanks than not wasting while enjoying it sound simple, no not really in todays haste and waste society that i am a part offLOL. but little steps become big movement if done consistantly sorry about the rambling onLOL i am done. thatnks for the inspiration |
Date: 2/12/2001 9:20:00 PM From Authorid: 27403 LSG, I am most Positively Not Sucking Up, but I do agree. There is the most beautiful Native American song that says, "The Earth is our Mother, We must take care of her. We walk upon her sacred ground. With every step we take. It is very beautiful. Date: 2/12/2001 9:39:00 PM From Authorid: 11723 I bet it was one of the saddest and most heartfelt things you have ever heard/experienced...there are very few sounds I can think of that are more painful and heartwrenching. The first time I heard it I actually cried. Like I said...because of what i do..I have to deal with it sometimes. |

Date: 2/13/2001 12:55:00 AM From Authorid: 21435 Lady Spirit Guide, that was a nice thought. Our old world needs all the prayers we can muster. Man just runs rampant over our earth, burning, robbing and raping. One of my favorite bands, "The Doors" spoke about it in the song,"When the music's over." "What have they done to the earth? What have they done to our fair sister?" Good post. Write on. |

Date: 2/13/2001 9:11:00 AM From Authorid: 12835 We should leave the earth better than we found her, and teach this to our children as we do. Amen, nice post. |
Date: 2/13/2001 3:52:00 PM From Authorid: 10798 I agree with you 100 percent. Nobody is a more fervent environmentalist than ol' Songbird. I hate it when I see the way mankind is destroying the earth bit by bit. Where I live, they are cutting down all the woods to put up more new houses...when nobody is buying the ones already built. More shopping centers and malls when stores are empty at the old ones. People are cutting down the grand old oak trees so they can ride around on their riding mowers and sit in houses on empty, bare lawns with their air conditioners full blast. I just hate it...and I wish I could do something about it. All I can do is cry...and pray. I believe God will call everyone to account for the way we have treated the earth. |

Date: 2/13/2001 8:48:00 PM From Authorid: 609 This is really beautiful LSG!! I know its how I feel when I look out my window and see the many buildings and few trees. I go out in the country in the summer just to see the stars and I remember when I was a child and they were so much easier to see. It breaks my heart when I think of all the damage we have caused and I always try and send my energies out to help her heal. |

Date: 2/16/2001 9:16:00 AM From Authorid: 27004 Your story was very touching. It reminds me of stories my grandmother used to tell me as a child. It is said that when we stomp on the earth, she does feel the pain. I don't know how true it is, but I was told that if we abuse the earth... when we die and go 6ft. under she will take her revenge. Date: 3/7/2001 10:31:00 PM From Authorid: 28571 It's so sad. I used to live in Nova Scotia, and I'll tell you, there are the best beaches there! The cliffs, and it all makes it so beautiful, but the ocean is being polluted and sewage and chemicals are being dumped into it daily, we used to all go swimming there , but now its just gross! But at least there are still a couple of good beaches left.(but not many)-Ally13 |
