Ok, I don't know if this happens in any other places but here in Hawaii we have a kind of urban legend. It's called the choking ghost. Well, it is said that in the middle of the night the ghost will come and sit on your chest. You can't move and you can't breathe. Supposedly it let's you go when you begin to think you're going to die. Here's my story:
This happened to me last night. I took a nap earlier in the day so I woke up around midnight. I was just surfing this site for a while. By the time I was a little tired it was like 5 in the morning. So, I decided hey, why not get a couple hours of sleep in before I have to go to school. So I went and lied down. It took me a while to finally sleep but when I did I had this weird dream. I was sitting in front of the computer and in the reflection I could see me and I saw a shadow move behind me. In my mind I thought Oh, My God, He's Here. That's when I woke up. And I couldn't move or breathe. I guess I was lying there for at least half a minute trying to think what to do. Then I remember that my Mom always used to tell me that my grandfather (who passed away) would always look after me and not be afraid. So, I thought in my head Grandpa help me. Then whatever it was lifted off me and I was gulping for air. I had chicken skin (goosebumps) all up and down my body. It was really scary. But I thought hey, it can't happen twice in one night right? So, I tried to get back to sleep. Then right when I was dosing off. I felt something like a hand on my neck. I jumped up and tried to get it off. But when I felt my neck it was kinda numb. Well, after this I thought I won't sleep on my back anymore. Since I heard the ghost can only get you when you sleep on your back. So, I rolled over on my side. I then fell asleep again. I had a dream that my Mom and I were sitting on a couch. I was lying on her leg and then she got up to get something. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a man without a face and long kind of stringy hair. I woke up again and for about 10 seconds I couldn't move or breathe again. Then I just decided I wouldn't go back to sleep and I just lied in my bed.
*updated* It has happened again! Once I was sleeping in my room and my friend was over and I woke up and I couldn't move. My friend was still sleeping and I tried yell to her to help me but I couldn't. Another time I was sleeping on my couch in the living room and when I woke up I couldn't move and I like my whole body was stuck or something. How it changed my life:I'm not too worried about it yet.
