letting him live gives him the chance to repent and perhaps perform some service to his fellow man...as a example of how Hate destroys and tolerance and fath gives new hope...He should never walk the streets again as a free man but he can teach prisioners how destructive a life of hate can be. Every person is worth more then their worst action, they are worth what there best potential could become. If he is killed he will not have time to explore that best potential and we, Humanity, will be poorer for the loss. PatrickO |

Well he made a concious decision and has even admitted doing so. He has no remorse for his decision, and wants to be put to death. I say put him to death, just my opinion. |

What about the strong message that it sends to others that may want to resort to what he did? You would have to run a whole story on the death penalty. Personally I have no answers but do think that when they say life in prison thats what it should mean LIFE and not 20 or 30 years and then they are set free. The system needs an overhaul with some serious consideration to the victims of crimes and not to the perpetrator. |

I think they should keep him alive until he can choke up some more info...I dont think he did this by himself, or just with Nichols. After they find out more, throw the switch on him... |

In McVeigh's eyes he did no wrong. He was even helping those around him, in his mind. In his world he is "right", in another's he is "wrong". Don't you see that we ALL have opinions about life and how we see fit to live it? What gives another the right to Kill? Does it make you any better? Or does it just make you feel safer? This was a tragic experience that we went through and we all felt things because of it. We got to experience "who we are" in the presents of "who we aren't". It was a pre-sent gift. All things in life are perfect gifts if you know how to truly look at it. Why then would you "kill" someone for showing us who we are? We need to stop looking at life as we have in the past and look at the bigger picture. Step out of the box and you will find great happiness. I loved your comment Patrick O. Great msg. One I hope many will hear. |

Chelle, dont get me wrong I deffinitly think that what he did was wrong and that there is such a thing as evil and wrong and people can be misdirected to doing evil and McVeigh deffinitly did evil...I beleave in time given the oppertunity to mature and explore the nature of life and truth he MAY find that truth and become a valuable person...making a positive mark on the world...as a human being he deserves the oppertunity to make that quest, behind bars. Oppinions are protected...actions have consiquences I just dont think exacution is a valid consiquence. PatrickO |

I understand that Patrick. I was agreeing with the idea of life in prison. You'd be amazed at what a person can realize while time is on their side. Your statement of "Every person is worth more then their worst action, they are worth what there best potential could become. If he is killed he will not have time to explore that best potential and we, Humanity, will be poorer for the loss". I didn't mean to imply onto others that we agree on anything else...lol. I don't believe we all hold the same ideas of what is "right" or what is "wrong". But that doesn't mean that someone with a different "idea" will not realize that a certain behavoir acted out may not have benefited his chosen path, therefore allowing him to change that idea to fit the next vision of who they choose to be next in this life. Life is about change and I believe that ANYONE can change if it's their choice. However, they still have consequences to account for while here on Earth. It's unfortunate that this still the way it works after two millennium, but it'll come. |

I think he needs to live.....in a cell papered with the pictures of all the innocent lives he took. He should have to look into the faces of those children and babies each and every day of his rotten life. Maybe he should get updates on the families and how they have to go each day living without their loved one. I don't think that we should kill these people but I don't thinkk we should make their lives a pic-nic.....Aester |

I live in Lockport,NY.Which is where Tim McViegh is from(actually he is from Pendelton, which is a suburb of Lockport)I saw all the crap that it stirred up for our little city and I see more of it coming.Tim is getting exactlly what he wants,to be remembered in history. If we put that execution on TV then he wins.Do we want to give him that satifaction. His rights are no longer important as far as i am concerned. He should get nothing more than a humane way to die. Also, does anyone think of his parents? They did nothing wrong, but their lives have torn apart, adding 2 more victms.Just put him to death with the familys of the victims, they are the only ones who deserve to watch. If we put him on TV he is going to say something. That is why he wants it.He is a sick man. |

Well I am a little bit on the edge for both ways. I think its right that a person that commits such acts cannot feel remorse if they couldn't feel compassion for other living humans beings. So letting him sit around and live with the guilt and remorse is not going to help. Then on the other side I have seen many people say that it would bring peace to the victims families. Well if you think about it, carrying that much hate around destroys you. The pain of losing a loved one is not going to end in the death of someone else. I personally think that taking joy in or getting ease from the death of any person regardless of the circumstances doesn't make you a whole lot better then the person that is being executed. Afterall that is what he did, he enjoyed watching other people suffer. I don't think there are any right and wrong answers as to what to do with people like this. However I have to say jail conditions make me sick. Its a no wonder why so many criminals end up back there. They all have way to much freedom. Us, the taxpayers pay for cable Tv for these people? I know people that lead good lives and work hard and can't afford it for themselves. Now they have computers with internet service for these people? They life weights, go outside play basketball and other games???? I think they need to go back to the way that it was before all these constitutional things got involved. I saw this one prisoner on court Tv a few nights ago whining about the conditions he was forced to live in......the toilet in his cell overflowed and he was forced to sit in raw sewage 3 inches deep for weeks. My words to him.....WAH poor baby, maybe you should have thought of that before you decided to break the law..............Azairyia |
