Here at my dad's house, we get several calls a day just like that. We have never said anything (intentionally or to our knowledge) that would make the government do that to our phone, but still, I can't help but wonder....*Starless Sky*  |

I suppose anything is possible with the government. No telling what all they have acquired for the means to monitor us...I know for a fact that one of my dective friends left the police department to work for the Feds, and you know what he did? He installed things in people's houses for them to secretly monitor people by working for a Cable company...he swore to me it was being done to everyone ordering cable services...until there is no one left without it...he is a very honest man and said he didn't like the job...Peace,  |

i hate it when that happens cause the phone rings and i am in the middle of something important, but to be nice i get up and answer it(and since i usually run to get it the phone will ring 3 times tops) but nobody is there and it ticks me off  |

We get calls, too, where people call asking for me while I'm at work, but refuse to leave a name or message or call back when I get home in the evenings. So I had our caller ID box turned on, to track the calls. Well, these calls come up as "out of area" or "private call." In doing the *69 to get a number, I got this recording "the last caller cannot be reached, please hang up." My brother-in-law is in the phone business, he feels that it's telemarketers who call from all over the country, and their calls cannot be tracked. But who's to say if it's a telemarketer or somebody with nothing better to do than harrass folks? I know that there is an anonymous call block, wherein the caller can block their number from caller ID boxes. Perrianne |

That is true to my knowledge also. I have had it done to me in regards to a certain television show i was producing. Won't say the name becaue my phone was tapped at home and at the studio. Feedom and privacy are wonderful isn't it? |

uh if that is true it is illegal!!! They also have the same system for the net, but they can only watch someone if granted by the Supreme Court!! The FBI or government needs to have special reasoning!! Trust me there are thousands if not millions of suspicious phone calls made every second. It is not possible to keep track!!! Smarten Up |

me and my friends were once talking on the subject of conspiracys and we hen started hearing tapping on the line and she then says she seen a flying honda but i dont know i know that since then ive heard other voices on the phone line that isint that of my friends i do believee that i am being monitored so for now on i just be careful what i say  |

*Hmmm* There is at least one *listening station* that monitors for key words, that being in England. In fact, the french made a stink about it about over a year ago.
