On Feb.14/1997 my now husband proposed to me.We were living together at the time and had talked about marriage but not that seriously. On this day he sent me roses and we had reservations at a really nice restaurant for dinner that evening. When I got the flowers I figured that was what he got me as he usually did, along with a nice meal.So we went to dinner and while we waited for our meal he kept asking me if I needed to go to the ladies room.I kept saying no-thinking he was acting a little nervous or wierd or something. After a while he started fumbling with something under the table.(I thought he had his hand stuck in his pocket.)Then he leaned forward and said to me-"So-you wanna get married?"as he brought his hand above the table with a ring box in it.I was surprised and kept saying "I can't believe you just said that.."-"Is that a yes or a no?" he says.Of cource it was a yes.He later told me he wanted me to go to the ladies room so that he could slip it onto my fork so that when we started to eat I'd find it and be surprised. But I was surprised all the same. And we got married that following September.I was just wondering if anyone else had a special Valentines Day they'll always remember???

How it changed my life:

well-it changed my last name and made me a happily married woman

Date: 2/10/2001 7:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 8555    Well no one has proposed to me yet, but.....2 years ago my boyfriend said nothing to me about his valentines plans, so I had no idea what he was up to. I shopped for his present during Valentine's day, so I got home around 5. I was planning on calling him when I got home to see what we were going to do. As soon as I got home, I saw rose petals all over the floor leading to my room (he also cleaned my room which was a mess) He lit a bunch of candles, and left a dozen roses on my nightstand, with a card that said I love you. I just thought it was so cute. What really sucks though is that I'll be spending this Valentine's day all alone!
