Wooooo wooooo! Yay! Same here...just cause some people (ahem ahem) smoke pot doesnt mean i want other stuff. I have been offered acid and shrooms. But i know those are actually really dangerous. They can make you go insane. And pot doesnt kill millions of people like ciggs do! You dont hear commercials about dead people that smoked too much pot. And anyways...its too expensice to be smoking all the time so its not like everyone is smoking 7 joints in an hour. Maybe there should be an age limit though. I do NOT want little 12 yr olds turning into total retards cause of thise. And i dont premote people smoking pot or doing drugs. Im just siding that its some mighty good stuff  |

Hop Frog, well... I'm a Police Officer's niece, so of COURSE I'm gonna have different opinions than you! *sigh* I don't think marijuana should e legalized, and it IS worse than cigarettes. I've seen marijuana do so many things to people that cigarettes can't even compete with. I've known several people who will die the first time they use cigarettes. Now, there may be people who have had the same impact with cigarettes, but I've never seen it. Marijuana is like alcohol. Hop Frog, you did a good job of presenting your facts here. Personally I think marijuana is as bad as a mixture of ciggarettes and alcohol. It gives you that out of control thing that alcohol does and it's as dangerous in the long run as ciggerettes. So I think either alcohol should also be illegal, or marijuana should join alcohol and ciggerettes in being legal. They do use it in medicines too, so it's uses aren't all bad.   |

to Sweets and royaluzi--Cigarettes have WAY more toxins than pot because cigs are processed and mixed with all kinds of crap (like the stuff in rat poison, bleach, and amonia for example). Pot is all natural (unless it's laced). another thing, pot is not addictive. tobacco is. and most people who smoke pot are too lazy when they are high to drive anywhere, and most of us arent that stupid anyway. --Hop Frog  |

I have never smoked pot or did any other illegal drugs(except for ciggarettes and alcohol when I was underage). Legalizing pot for medical wouldn't be bad, for someone who is terminally ill, and it would help them reduce thier pain. I guess I don't have to much of an opinion wether to totally legalize it or not since I have never done it and have no desire to. -Mirada69  |
| Date: 2/3/2001 6:51:00 PM From Authorid: 20404 did you know that ALCAHOL is the most dangerous drug there is and it is legal? you can DIE from alcohol withdrawl and you can't die from withdrawl of any other substance (although you may wish you could). pot was made illegal in the first place by a forceful lobbying effort from the logging (paper) companies. hemp made a much better paper and was cheaper because it is easier to renew. . . it also makes fabrics that rival the cotton industry. anyways, i have smoked pot in the past, and i must agree with you. it should be legalized. i would much rather see my son smoke pot than drink . . . great topic. you are going to get a TON of debate on this one! -ter |

It is not just about gettting high, it is about the acual properties that give us oils in aircraft now that we use, it is about the usage of te fiber for long lasting clothing that keeps us cool in the summer and warm in the winter, It is about the healing properties that can assist in many illeness. There are thousands of reasonings that the canabas plant shouls have never became illegal in the first place. But then we would have to knock out many large corporations, wouldn't we..HUMMMM..well know that back in the 1800 it was deemed necessacary to grow the canabas plant. You were paid by the government to grow it. In fact it was d3manded in some areas of the US> So do I think it should be leagal...YOU BETCHA!!! i just have to say that im suprised at the comments on here. most people say legalize it. and of course i would have to agree with it. in my opinion, it can do no harm to you if you dont let it. and i dont think that anyone who smokes pot is going to get stupid or slow or ANYTHING!! and i dont think its a depressant. it has never made me depressed. i think that it can kind of screw things over if you spend all your money on it (hint hint). but so can anything else in the world. (^_^) well, i think most is said here already. ill be interested in seeing if it actually DOES get legalized. i think the reason why it isnt legal is because them people in washington cant tax us on it.  |

I think that they should legalize it, I've used before I came in to the military and have stopped now, but I would probably use it again when I get out Just comes to show that you can stop whenever you want, unlike cigarettes...  |

The drug causes a mild drowsy state with an increased awareness of clour, sound and taste. It has many healing qualities,when eaten as an herb or drunk like tea. It does not make you stupid or drop down dead. But having said all that I do not want it legalised that will put the price up!!! Sagi10  |
