Quest II....Into The Depths....by StormTracker5

Profelius approached the tree with care
After the mystery that was held there
Approaching the dragon whom he brought death
He watched in sorrow as it released its last breath

Dagraunt came running to his king's side
"Surely Sire, you do not desire what's inside"
Those words, Dagraunt spoke with a frown
As the body of the dragon was being pulled down

A sight so frightening right before their eyes
Profelius viewed this scene with great surprise
"Sire, to those depths you should not go
For what lies beneath, we do not know"

"Put your mind at ease my dear friend
This mystery shall not bring about my end"
Those were the words Profelius said
As Dagraunt's mind filled with dread

To the base of the tree the king did go
As clouds moved in to cover the moon's glow
Profelius wondered what he would see
As he slowly dropped down to one knee

Carefully Profelius looked around
An entrance could not be found
Just as Profelius was about to rise
He was being pulled under, to his surprise

Down into the ground, holding his breath
Thinking this surely would not be his death
Just as he could hold his breath no more
The ground opened up, much like a door

An underground cave is where he did fall
Taking note of the creature there in the hall
Off to his left there came a sound
The noise of a stream babbling underground

From behind the creature, a dim light
Making this cave just a little bright
Through the air came a soft voice
"Death or three riddles, it be your choice"...
