~*Hey, All*~ I was watching a special on MTV about Matthew Shepard and other hate crimes, and I absolutely bawled my eyes out! For those of you who don't know the story, Matthew Shepard (RIP) was a collage student, who also happened to be gay. He was an incredible student, one of the highest in his class. He was very sweet and friendly, much loved by many. Well, one night when he was at a bar near his campus, two guys offered him a ride home. Being a carefree and sweet guy, he accepted. The two guys then drove him to a pasture, beat him over the head 18 times with the barrel of a gun, tied him to a fence, and left him. He died, his face covered in blood, except for two tear streaks. Anyways, before we go any further, I'm NOT writing this post to discuss whether or not being gay is "okay" or whatever, I'm posting this to talk about the fact that it's 2001, and people are still judging others on stupid crap like race, religion, or even sexuality. Why the h**l can't people love each other for who we are, instead of what sex we are, or color, or social status? I'm now tearing up, because this is something that has bothered me for awhile. I just don't understand why people are so scared of something that they don't understand or agree with that they hate because of it. There's no way that everyone could ever agree. I just don't get why we can't agree to disagree... *huggs and mwah!* ~*ScruffyLilSuzyBugg*~ You can join Unsolved Mysteries and post your own mysteries or interesting stories for the world to read and respond to Click hereScroll all the way down to read replies.Show all stories by Author: 15358 ( Click here )
