"I'm ready for bed," Leighanne announced, standing up. She threw her arms over her head, stretching her body out. "Nick, did anyone stay sober tonight, other than me?"
"Um, Aaron. He's too young to drink. And Laura," Nick said, biting his lip in thought. Leighanne's eyes drifted over to the corner, where Aaron and his fiance, Raeanne, were asleep. They were sharing a chair, Raeanne's legs draped over Aaron's knees. Aaron held his arms around Raeanne, Raeanne's hands were delicately perched on his chest.
"Aw, how cute is that," Brian spoke up, standing up. He enveloped Leighanne in a hug.
"Yeah, I know. They're adorable together," Leighanne smiled. Brian kissed her neck softly.
"I meant you," he whispered. Leighanne's smile grew into a grin. "Well, Nick. Since everyone left early, I guess you won't complain about being sleep-deprived."
"I guess not," Nick yawned, scratching his stomach. He glanced at his girlfriend, who was softly snoring in the seat next to her sleeping cousin and future cousin-in-law.
"Aaron, wake up," Brian said, approaching his friend tipsily. He pushed on the platinum-blonde's arm. Aaron barely stirred. He mumbled something un-comprehendable.
"Hey, Aaron!" Nick shouted, bounding over to his sleeping sibling. He pounded him on the shoulder. Raeanne, startled by the sudden noise, jumped nearly five feet into the air. She rolled off the chair.
"What the-?" she cried. Aaron had snorted loudly as he snapped his eyes open. Brian was howling in laughter, rolling on the floor. Leighanne stared at him as if he lost his sanity. "What was that for, Nickolas?"
"Raeanne, it's time to go home," Nick said sternly, shooting his best friend an evil look. "Don't call me Nickolas."
"That's your name," Raeanne snapped, standing up. Nick rolled his eyes, gently tugging at his girlfriend's hand. Laura opened her eyes slowly. Brian and Leighanne headed for the door.
"See ya'll!" Brian drawled.
"Don't start with me," Nick warned, helping Laura stand up. "Bye guys!"
"Bye!" Leighanne chirpped.
"I'll start when I want, got it Spazz Pig?" Raeanne stated, grabbing her present. Leighanne, Brian, and Aaron rolled their eyes. "Bye, Leigh! See ya, B!"
"I swear, Raeanne," Nick trailed off, pulling Laura close to him.
"What's going on?" Laura mumbled, laying her head on Nick's shoulder. She promptly nodded off again.
"Hey, come on, Rae. Let's go home before you and Nick slash each other's throats," Aaron laughed, taking Raeanne's hand. Raeanne beared her long nails to Nick, whose eyes went wide.
"I have the capability, too," she wiggled her eyebrows. She latched her hand onto Laura's arm. "Come on, cous. You're going home with us."
"Whatev..." Laura muttered, barely moving from her perch on Nick's shoulder. Aaron sighed deeply. Raeanne and Nick both gave him suspecting looks.
"What? She's your cousin... She's your girlfriend. I don't have to pick her up," Aaron raised his hands.
"It's your car," Nick and Raeanne automatically replied. Aaron looked helplessly at the sky.
"Fine," he said. He picked Laura up in his arms, then trudged toward his car. You can join Unsolved Mysteries and post your own mysteries or interesting stories for the world to read and respond to Click hereScroll all the way down to read replies.Show all stories by Author: 20746 ( Click here )
