Good evening USM Angels….
Hope my posting finds All doing very well…. We’re getting some rain tonight mixed with snow flurries Sitting here listening to a Christian program and thought I would send out a message to The Angels this evening..
I’ve been doing well——-busy as always with my fur babies, chickens, etc they all keep me busy and there’s never a dull moment around here And to think I thought about goats, lambs, etc in which I still might consider it at some point———but at this time I am busy with those fur babies and feathered friends Also those with hooves, in particular, deer.. For many years now, I’ve been feeding the deer here where I live in this incredibly beautiful mountainous terrain…I truly feel so very blessed……
While I fed every one yesterday and put out feed for the deer as always——-I heard noise near. The spruce thicket close to the meadow where a lot of the deer will hide or bed down There’s a stand of gorgeous ancient Oak trees there and sometimes I’ll go sit and write some….there used to be a picnic table we moved there but over the years, without staining, it didn’t withstand the weather. Perhaps later, I’ll have something else put there…it’s such a picturesque location here on the farm, it would be a shame not to put something back in place of the old table… So it was near the thicket of spruce that I heard hunting dogs——but by all the noise I made, the dogs and without a doubt; their handlers got the message and loudly and clearly and left the scene. It was then, I heard a commotion reminiscent of NYC’s Grand Central station———but without any need for traffic control!
There were 2 huge Bucks herding the ladies past my garden pergola, the swing, on the lawn down to the meadow passed the spruce thicket and those ancient Oaks I mentioned earlier.. I thought where is my camera/phone when I need it!?!? It was an incredible sight to see, let me say! These deer are not stupid, they instinctually knew where to come, This is their sanctuary as well as other animals, they knew if they made it here, they would be safe…..indeed I lost count, there were so many!—-running, leaping———I believe it, when hearing the commercial from many years ago, “ Nothing runs like a Deer!” How true That is in more ways than one! I felt like they probably would not come to feed with all that excitement!———and though they were a little over an hour late, night had fallen, still they showed up to feed…… And All is well…….. After all of that———The next morning, a band of about 10 turkeys were making their way toward the same meadow……..lol
Oh well, Mama and I are having either ham or chicken for Thanksgiving anyway! :)
Wishing All a very nice Thanksgiving…Prayers for a wonderful time shared with family, friends…..love and laughter——-and a bountiful feast
Much Love, Prayers
