JOTW #215

  Author:  5940  Category:(Humor) Created:(11/23/2024 4:38:00 AM)
This post has been Viewed (181 times)

When I see lovers names carved into a tree, I don't think that it's romantic.

I think it's rather bizarre that so many people happen to carry knives with them when they've on a date.

...this wouldn't happen if the trees were armed.

Date: 11/23/2024 5:38:00 AM  From Authorid: 21435    Ever carve names into a tree?

kronk---Nope. I am a tree hugger. I'd never do that to a tree. Now, I've carved lots of stuff onto school desks and wood frame buildings.

"L.D."---Hypocrite!

kronk---Ugh!

...JOTW #215 has been brought to you by the letter Y.

Date: 11/23/2024 8:03:00 AM  From Authorid: 5301

...kronk...did you ever go back for the first day of school after summer vacation
to find that your classroom had been blessed with all new desks just waiting for
someone to introduce artwork to that otherwise blank canvas?

I don't think the teachers were too fond of my creativity but a person needs to express.

I do have to wonder why new desks were being made, right through the sixties and into the
early seventies, with inkwells. Did someone foresee a resurgence in quill pen usage?

...is it just me or has anyone else noticed that Hey Larry drops the JOTW
early on Saturdays and quickly retreats to the secure confines of his bunker?

Date: 11/23/2024 8:13:00 AM  From Authorid: 5301

...I thought I was being really romantic years ago when I decided
to make breakfast in bed for the woman I was with at the time.
Everything was going swimmingly at first until the griddle spilled
bacon grease on the sheets and the mattress caught fire.

She left me for a fireman. I won't be doing that again.

Hekler can never make that boast because the Canadian Beaver has that market cornered.

Date: 11/23/2024 9:43:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940    Hekler has just "outed" himself with the letter "Y" chromosome.
Date: 11/23/2024 9:48:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940    RE: Heklers " Is it me? " snarky comment.

Yes, it is YOU. I still work for a living you Trailer Park version of Robin Leach!

Date: 11/23/2024 9:52:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940    LOL! She left you for the fire station mascot. A Dalmatian ....after all, they are loyal and love unconditionally.
Date: 11/23/2024 2:05:00 PM  From Authorid: 5301

...Rob 'n' Leech...isn't that the name of your president-elect?

Date: 11/24/2024 7:56:00 AM  From Authorid: 21435    Hekler What a flashback! In fourth grade, I didn't know about "engraving" desks, yet. I was so fond of my desk, in third grade homeroom, that on the second day of school, I was apprehended moving my old desk into my new homeroom. (I thought of that desk as my own personal property.) "They" got a good laugh and actually took a desk to replace mine. My third grade desk a beautiful carving of a duck.

"L.D."---Yeah, you always were kinda' weird about ducks.

kronk---I always wished I could have been born with webbed feet.

"L.D."---Ugh!

Date: 11/24/2024 9:50:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940    RE: The snarky comments regarding the JOTW being " dropped " early on Saturdays..etc..

First of all, I'm not retired from working as of yet.

Secondly, you're accusing my well known attempts at offering fun by means of humor, then retreating to a bunker are nothing more than a smear campaign. I work alternate weekends and little to no time fir responding to your baseless comments that are no more relevant than blaming leprechauns for electing Trump for Autocrat.

Date: 11/24/2024 2:29:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Hey Larry If I might offer a tiny bit of advice concerning "retirement." Make sure that you have something to latch on to, once the new wears off. I was all for lying in bed and reading, like Ernest Hemingway. My associate stated that was such a silly idea, and that I couldn't retire because the entire eastern seaboard of the United States of America was depending on me for their supply of blue swimming crab.

"L.D."---Boy, mother sure got to you, man. By the way, where is she?

kronk---Last I heard, she was camped out at a casino in Vegas. She sent me a text message that read: "Catch more crab!"

"L.D."---Ugh!

Date: 11/24/2024 7:46:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940    Well Kronk, I haven't won the lottery yet and it looks like I'll be supporting the top 1% for a little while longer. In the meantime I have the JOTW to keep me going....

Date: 11/25/2024 7:57:00 AM  From Authorid: 5301

...I'm just wondering how the acronym "JOTW" ties in to your GoFundMe.

Date: 11/25/2024 7:58:00 AM  From Authorid: 5301

...kronk...lift top desks, erasers and thumb tacks. Ring a bell?

Date: 11/25/2024 8:02:00 AM  From Authorid: 5301

...Hey Larry...Re: Smear Campaign: la la la la la la la la la la la la

"L.D."---Ugh!

Date: 11/25/2024 4:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    You know; the JOTW is more than just Saturday morning, man.

kronk---Dig it, dog. What day is it, anyway?

"L.D."---Well, it ain't yesterday and it isn't quite tomorrow, either.

kronk--- Gimme a minute, will you.

"L.D."---Ugh!

Date: 11/26/2024 3:56:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940    WhatGO Fund Me are you referring to? Oh, you mean the " Save The Ottawa Loon" charity I set up? Yeah, so far there haven't been any donations.....no surprise...
Date: 11/28/2024 7:08:00 AM  From Authorid: 21435    Happy Thanksgiving!

"L.D."---You're off topic.

kronk---Gimme' a break, dog. Giving thanks is a good thing.

"L.D."---Yeah, well, if you give me that ham bone, I'll remember to thank you.

kronk---Ugh!

Date: 11/28/2024 11:42:00 AM  From Authorid: 55251    Who knew tree-carving was part of date night prep... "keys, wallet, knife… ready to go!"
Date: 11/29/2024 8:14:00 PM  From Authorid: 67865    Grand and valid observation, makes one wonder...HBY
