34 counts and this may not even be close to over for Trump...

Been a crazy week with the developments of Trumps' trial with Stormy Daniels, huh? When they said around Tuesday the jury would be deliberating, I honestly wasn't expecting a verdict of 34 counts of felony in the next day or two. The opportunistic side of me hopes he goes to prison, of course. But even with the 34 counts withstanding, it won't exactly happen tomorrow. There are still two or three other trials he has, around five altogether. There will be a sentence declared for the 34 counts in July, I think. If they're not going to imprison him right away, they ought to be able to bar him from running for office at that point. Potential maximum prison sentence could be 4 or 5 years in the pen. All we know is if the average civilian faced one-fifth of Trump's charges, they'd already be behind bars by now. Another reminder of how much influence the rich and powerful have over the justice system in these here parts. We will see, I guess. I still have cautious, moderate optimism Trump may go to the clinker after all sooner or later.

So many news media polls have Trump leading Biden in a lot of areas, even after the verdict came in. I'm not sure I believe it all. I honestly think Biden still has a better chance at winning another term than corporate media or right-wing MAGA followers would have us believe. Throughout 2016 up to Election Day, most Americans probably thought Hillary Clinton would cruise to a win and look how that turned out. Lol. It could be a close race. Trump could win again, barring too much legal pressures. Biden might barely get another win. Biden might win it in a landslide. A lot can change with another 5 months to the election. I do worry a little about the prospect that if Biden wins again, some cult crazies out there are gonna do something like January 6th again. For now, Project 2025 keeps me up at night and is my reason to vote, if nothing else. Scary stuff. Someday, I ought to read Sinclair Lewis' 'It Can't Happen Here'. Project 2025 is an outline and blueprint for how die-hard MAGAs want the power on Capitol Hill to be usurped by Trump loyalists (or loyalists to whomever is a far-right GOP candidate when that opportunity can spring), and overhaul to giving about absolute power to the president. LGBTQ and women's rights will likely be endangered among many other things. If nothing else compels you to vote this election, because we know how unpopular a repeat race is, let alone with these choices, let Project 2025 motivate you to vote to fight its chances of coming to fruition. A feeling I have about the election is this: if Trump loses again this year, I don't think he'll run again. If you genuinely can't stand the guy, keep that in mind.
