Hi Sarah! I currently live in Northwest Arkansas ( moved here from Arizona back in the fall of ‘05 ) and in the spring of ‘06 I got my first experience with high winds and heavy rain which resulted in a tornado that touched down briefly in a small area roughly twenty or so miles from where I was residing temporarily. I was able to take a drive shortly after that to have a look around the residential area ( which was a new home section being built ) because the tornado only touched down briefly, and fortunately nobody got hurt, but the damage to some of the homes and the large oak trees that became splintered was a real eye opener for me. I grew up in Southern California and had experienced earthquakes, the worst being the Sylmar Quake of 1971 and that frightened me as a child. But the aftermath of a tornado is quite unique. I am about an hour’s drive from Joplin , Missouri and in 2011 the disaster of an F5 landed and worked itself for roughly a mile or so… Any way, I’ll join you for a cup of coffee anytime. |

Sarah D. I do like my coffee, lady. I'm up to about four, 5 cups pots per day. The wind has sure been blowing around our area, lately. We lost power three times in two days, a couple of weeks ago. Hail and wind and big old rain drops. "They" say it might be a very active hurricane season. I can certainly do without that. Good to read you, my friend. Thar' she blows! Hang on and Write on..... |

Hi Sarah, thank you for the post. "This too shall pass". "Memento mori". These are terms I like to remind myself. The impermanence of all things, good or bad. We are all together on this roller coaster of life. We don't know when the ride will stop. But, we may as well enjoy it the best we can while we are here! |
