Beyond what they did, or the toxic things said,
it doesn't matter..
except it's still ringing in your head.
you've come too far to let this break you,
understand who you are,
and the poison can't take you,
down beneath the things that make you unique,
don't you understand..
the hurt is designed to sneak into your soul,
break down a person, make them lose control..
of who they really are.
destroying their true self,
better have strong boundaries in place..
or else, this could be you,
playing the fool.
Letting them see the weakness within.
Before the day begins,
make some definitions,
it will be just for you.
Building a foundation of belief,
strong enough to withstand anything thrown with a wild hand,
if those words don't match what you know,
they hit the wall,
and slide into eternity,
no one has the right to redefine you, or me.
