Plusses, minuses...maybe my next USM post will be a better title.

Unfortunately, the Detroit Lions lost. They still had an extremely good season in comparison to most of the others. 12-5 with a conference championship game appearance. Really hoping they would pull it off, and for a lot of that game, the odds looked good. I think the Chiefs are gonna beat the 49ers in the Super Bowl. And honestly, I hope that. I feel like Patrick Mahomes matching one of Tom Brady's records of back-to-back Super Bowl wins will give them the excuse they need for a Super Bowl hangover going into the 2024 Season in a few months. I really, really want a Bengals-Lions Super Bowl next year. All we're getting next Sunday is basically a repeat of the 2020 Super Bowl. Same teams, same GOAT in Patrick Mahomes. We don't know the outcome, but I would say the Chiefs will get their third Super Bowl victory in four years.

Back to politics, Trump just keeps digging his own grave. An appeals court ruled yesterday that Trump does not have the presidential immunity he's been claiming since he got elected. Definitely not a good sign for him, in a legal situation that has slowly but surely not been on his side. Part of me hopes that they sentence him before the 2024 Election, but it's a stretch. Doing so would likely rob the Republican Party of any chance of victory. On the flip side, the QAnon and right-wing conspiracy nuts might go even more bonkers.

I've been reading The Autobiography of Malcolm X more. While I am 100 pages into it and still quite a way to go, it is very good so far. Minus being from Malcolm's sole point of view (and perhaps some input from Alex Haley), it's like a refresher from the bio of Malcolm X I read by Manning Marable almost 11 years ago, "Malcolm X: A Life of Re-invention'. Also a great read with a lot of insight, and many interesting tidbits that make you wonder just who was behind assassinating Malcolm X. This Saturday, I will be picking back up the Inuyasha manga @Volume 15.

I'm on a kind of surprise vacation this week. I came into work last Friday morning, and my co-worker told me he would be all alone the next week, because one of the vacation times I filled in for would be this week. A happy surprise and gift. Having a week off until this Sunday will do me some good. It's a staycation, but I can still re-organize somethings, exercise, read books, date, and binge Netflix, Hulu, anime, and movies. Might do a little walking on a nature trail tomorrow at some point. How are you all doing?

How it changed my life:

Life is full of ups and downs. Lol.

Date: 2/9/2024 5:29:00 AM  From Authorid: 21435    Well, my playoff game predictions were not that good.

"L.D."---Not that good? Your predictions were more like abysmal.

kronk---Yeah, well, it happens. I'm predicting Kansas City for the win, by two touchdowns and a field goal.

"L.D."---Good to know. That means SF is sure to win.

kronk---Ugh!

...probably the best title for your next post would be:
"I Will Send You Free Money" That should attract attention.

Date: 2/11/2024 5:31:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    SF-10...Kansas City-3

kronk---Give `em time. My Chiefs are just getting warmed up.

"L.D."---I bet the farm on the `49'rs.

kronk---You don't have a farm.

"L.D."---I bet "your" farm.

kronk---UGH!!!!

Date: 2/12/2024 6:56:00 AM  From Authorid: 21435    That was close, but it all worked out, didn't it?

kronk---How do you figure that? I won, but you bet "my" farm on SF and lost it all.

"L.D."---Yeah, but you won enough money, betting on KC, to buy your farm back.

kronk---"They" charged me $100 more to buy my own farm back, So, even though I won, thanks to your reckless gambling, I'm still in the hole, a hundred bucks. I'm
going to have to reduce your meat ration for the next month to recoup my losses.

"L.D."---Ugh! It was a good game, though.

kronk---Yes, it was a great game.
