There is this strange noise that occurs most Saturday’s after I post the Joke of the Week. I suspect it to be a malevolent spirit with a Canadian accent that moans and groans due to having no sense of humor. Otherwise, it’s relatively harmless ….. |

I'll put my investigator hat on! Here's my shot in the dark at explaining your experience: If cell reception is bad the signal can become interrupted and drop. A voice will sound irregular and the low quality may even change the pitch of the voice. Kind of like the example in this video: https://youtube.com/watch?v=I3dS2t5V1Qc On the topic of creepy sounds. I grew up in a very rural area. Did you know that wild cats such as Bobcats and Mountain Lions can make sounds that sound like a woman screaming in pain/terror? It's bone chilling to hear it! Wow, Larry! Those lights are something else. Did it scare you when you first saw them? Morphix, that is a very good explanation! However, what I heard was 100% different than what's on the video you linked. It definitely wasn't unclear sounding or anything, and there was none of that "cutting off" that you hear in the video. It was very clearly speaking sentences which I couldn't understand. What's crazy is that my girlfriend at the time heard the same thing. On her end, it looked like I was the one who had called her while on my end, it looked like she was calling me. I'm sure there's probably a logical explanation, but it was just so weird and jarring! I had forgotten how creepy Bobcats and Mountain Lions sound. I think I would die if I heard one at night in the woods, lol.  |

Hey Larry, I remember seeing the Phoenix Lights on the news as a child and being scared! It's likely contributed to my interest in the paranormal and brought me to USM. Since Hekler hasn't chimed in yet, I'll give you a preview of what Hekler would likely say... "Hey Larry, I'm sure it was just the mother ship stopping by to check on their favourite alien and make sure you're doing okay". |

As a child, I slept alone, in a small house, near to a river. The main house was only a few yards away, but I still felt like I was on my own. Back in those days, we had no A/C. (Yes, I'm old.) I lay awake many a night, listening to the sounds. Some, I would eventually identify and other sounds, I still wonder what made them. Of course, now, I have not heard those sounds in a very long time. I still sleep alone in the forest, occasionally, but the sounds that I hear are just not quite the same. Write on, TinaTurner12   |

No Tina, those lights weren’t scary but sure were puzzling. They didn’t make any noise as they seemed to just hover for a time. |

That is just bizarre!! I would have been freaked out, Lol. I don't recall ever hearing something unexplainable. But, I did smell something unexplainable. A couple of weeks after my mother-in-law passed away, I was driving this back road after visiting hubby at his work. It was absolutely pouring rain and cold. I had the heater on in the car. All of a sudden, I could smell her perfume in my car. It was so strong. It lasted just a few of seconds. There was nothing around me but open fields. I cannot explain it to this day! Take care,  |

once, I was falling asleep, then all of a sudden I heard my name yelled VERY loudly. Like someone was in the same room with me! It sounded like a female voice. to the point it woke me up, made me sit up and look around. Of course there was no woman around and no one around that would have said it.  |
