More football updates...including a much needed Panthers win...

Hey everyone. More big updates from the wide world of the NFL on my end. The Carolina Panthers finally snapped their losing streak. They lost their first six games. They were on their bye week this past week. Today, they finally won a game against the Houston Texans. 1-6 is by no means a good record. But it is better than 0-7. I don't know how many more games the Panthers will win when the season is over. I'd be surprised if we go any better than 5-12. With the exception of last year, that's been a common annual record for us since the team rebuild officially took effect in 2020. One thing I am certain of is that we will not make the playoffs this year. In fact, anyone can fact check and correct me if I am wrong. But I don't think any football team, at least through the Super Bowl Era to date, has made the playoffs/Super Bowl with an 0-5 starting record. The Panthers will need more time to develop, and clearly more practices and additions to the offensive line to be a great team in seasons to come. Someday they will pull it off.

The Cincinnati Bengals pulled off an enormous win today. They beat one of the top two or three teams in the entire NFC conference, the San Francisco 49ers (my other two would be the Philadelphia Eagles and Detroit Lions). The Bengals and Quarterback Joe Burrow in particular are looking like the strong team they had been over the past two seasons, all over again. Another nifty tidbit about the Bengals beating the 49ers today is that in doing so, they have beaten the entire NFC West division (Rams, Cardinals, Seahawks, 49ers) for the year 2023. I could absolutely be wrong, but I doubt any other team in AFC North (Steelers, Browns, Ravens) are going to pull that off. It could happen but I doubt it. The Bills aren't a weak team, but I am very confident the Bengals will also win that game next week. I'm confident the Cincinnati Bengals will have a great 2023 season altogether, and make the playoffs again.

The Detroit Lions will play the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football. While I am always happy to see them do well, there are some extra meanings to it. I am doing fantasy football again this year, and the Detroit Lions Defensive Line is on my starting roster. I am currently projected to beat my opponent this week and snap their undefeated streak. All their games are done going through this week. I still have one or two more to go through, which includes the Lions-Raiders game. My opponent may be ahead of me in scoring. But it isn't by much, and I still have room to score whereas the don't. Go Lions!

The Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Pittsburgh Steelers today. A tough and mostly defensive game for the majority of its duration. Only field goals were scored the first half of the game. Nevertheless, the Jaguars are holding steady in first place in the AFC South Division. They will likely make the playoffs again like last year. My gut feeling that quarterback Trevor Lawrence will help propel the Jaguars to loads of progress, and even a Super Bowl appearance eventually is on track.

The Tennessee Titans beat the Atlanta Falcons today. Like all the teams named for big cats, the Titans are also without a Super Bowl ring. The Atlanta Falcons are a rival to my Panthers. Nuff said. Get it, Titans.
