I Hid away today. I wore a bright disguise. I wore a smile of gold. No one knew for an instant That inside I was screaming.
I greeted everyone. I rung and bagged their purchases. Asking how their day was.
The few that were kind Told me I was so pleasant. And more cashiers should be like me.
Tick-tock. On the clock, Cloak the pain with a laugh. I'm so easy to forget.
Driving home. So glad it's dark. My dark eyes sparkle With the tears I can finally shed.
A wash up at fifty-four. I gave up all my dreams To accept my place in life. I'm not worth anything.
My dream is for the pain To lessen.
Time for bed. Sleepy head. Pop the pill. Remember Will. And sleep. And dream.
I want to leave. You can join Unsolved Mysteries and post your own mysteries or interesting stories for the world to read and respond to Click hereScroll all the way down to read replies.Show all stories by Author: 4995 ( Click here )
