Well, I really took a ride `round town on that one. I enjoy reading stuff that makes me think. I will often say, even to my close friends, "do whatever you think that you're big enough to do, but leave me out of it."

I won't deny that this is very well-written despite the fact that we share opposite views. I do want to offer you another view of what a same-sex relationship is like, though. I think people have it in their heads that it's some obscene, overly sexual thing. I've been married to my wife for almost 10 years, and let me tell you, we are BORING (and we like it that way). We go to work, come home, watch movies, hang out with our four rescue cats, and sometimes go out for dinner somewhere. I do think we have a more solid relationship than some heterosexual couples that I know. For example, I became horribly physically ill this summer. At the same time, I suffered a depressive episode. My wife spent the summer bringing me back and forth to the hospital, staying with me for hours, and then taking care of me once home. She never once complained about the fact that we basically had to spend our summer doing nothing.
Anyway, I like the line that uses "old trombone" and "stop that jazz". I thought that was really clever!!  |
