Anyone else really hyped up for another season of NFL football season starting Thursday, September 7th? The opening game will be Kansas City Chiefs @Detroit Lions. I think it could be a much closer game than many may anticipate. Chiefs are without question probably the favorite pick. But...Detroit has played much better football for the past year or two. I think the Lions could pull an upset and/or if nothing else, an extremely close game. Nothing against the Chiefs (save them beating Cincy last conference game. Meh!), but ya know, Superbowl hangovers are always a possibility. And if there's ever been a championship winning team and any time to exhibit it, it's this year for Kansas City imo. Who knows? They may ball out and get another Lombardi in 2024 all over again. But they have been in three of the past four Superbowls, and won two of those three. Not to mention the starting QB Patrick Mahomes won while playing with a slight injury. This is the ideal year as a Superbowl winner to go lax or take things a bit easier. I also hope the Carolina Panthers continue improving as they have little by little, since their 2020 rebuild started. The 2022 Season is the first time since the 2018 Season that we have won more than 5 games in a season, as well as since 2018 that we have won 7 games. 2019, 2020, and 2021 all had 5-11 or 5-12 records. Not good. 7-10 isn't great, either. But as an improvement, I will gladly take it. For the most part, the only way we can go is up at this point. Bryce Young is really showing potential on the field, even if we have only been through pre-season. I hate that we got rid of QB Matt Corral. Even if it's a snub to getting rid of anything or any athlete ex-Panthers coach Matt Rhule contributed to the game. Even if Matt Corral were to only primarily function as a backup. It just doesn't feel fair that Matt Corral only spent a year in Carolina. He had a season-ending injury during last year's pre-season games. But I don't think that is enough to just let him go as a rookie under such little time. Andy Dalton will likely be a good mentor to Bryce Young. I think that will work out splendidly.
Not to mention if this another year of (good) growing pains for Carolina, I really hope the Bengals have a better year than last and go back to a Superbowl, and for pity's sake....WIN IT!!! This could be for all anyone knows the first time in NFL history that all four teams named for cats (Lions, Bengals, Jaguars, Panthers) all possibly go to the playoffs next January. There is definitely potential. Lions look better than normal. I had a hunch telling me that Trevor Lawrence will shine with the Jaguars sooner or later. The Clemson Tigers, along with the Oregon Ducks and Virginia Tech Hokies, are some of the college football teams I root for. The Jaguars are definitely on the right path. Some experts think the Panthers are the primed and most likely to win the NFC South division. As it currently stands, NFC South is a horrid division, but you can never rule out the rivalries that exist between us and the Buccaneers and Saints, or worse...the Falcons! See I-85 Rivalry. Lol. I'll stay cautiously optimistic.
Anyway, if you're a football fan, and you had to pick 5 Dream Superbowl match-ups, what would they be? This is a question I should have asked on my earlier football post.
Here are mine:
1. Panthers-Chiefs/Panthers-Bengals (this is tied with the Chiefs-Panthers match-up. I wanna see two teams that have never won a Superbowl pull it off--Panthers and Bengals. But I also want to see the Panthers beat the best team in the league--the Chiefs).
2. Lions-Bengals
3. Panthers-Titans
4. Panthers-Jaguars
5. Bengals-Cowboys/Eagles-Bengals You can join Unsolved Mysteries and post your own mysteries or interesting stories for the world to read and respond to Click hereScroll all the way down to read replies.Show all stories by Author: 63219 ( Click here )
