We really haven't experienced it until our current upturn of the thermometer.

It's hot here in Seattle, but that only means 80 to 90 degrees.

Date: 8/14/2023 6:39:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Ginger Our seven day forecast calls for 100 degree temps every day, except for Wednesday. A cool front's moving in and it's supposed to be a chilly 98
degrees. It's been that way for the last month. Stay cool.

Date: 8/15/2023 10:37:00 AM  From Authorid: 55251    It's been very hot! Some days it's over 40°C (104°F). The wildfires don't help either. There were some days when the smoke was so thick that I'd cough as soon as I stepped outside. I try to stay inside when it's very hot outside. Unfortunately, I suspect this is going to be the new normal. Everybody is going to need an air conditioner.
Date: 8/15/2023 11:28:00 AM  From Authorid: 24704    We just broke a record streak of triple digits. It's been lovely here lol

Hi Ginger!
It almost seem like we get one blazing day here, followed by a good warm day, both
with beautiful evenings of breezy cooled air and it's a delight to sit outside.

Then a day or two of cooling rain. Repeat. I like to walk after dark any way. Much
less searing on the tired and overworked peepers.

...and the penguin thing Hy Larry mentioned?
It's a myth.
Canada has strict laws regarding Penguin exports and they are strictly adhered to.
Canada Customs and Border Patrol has too often intercepted shipments of mackerel
stashed inside these appliances and a federal ban has been issued. Nice try H.L

Since when did Canada have strict laws introducing new food sources? And the only thing your so called “ officials “ intercepted was a condition they had to see a doctor about.

Date: 8/18/2023 8:46:00 PM  From Authorid: 42945    Hi Sis, we are in the last days of our Winter here, beautiful days but cold early mornings and cold at night..September is our Spring time, so looking forward to it..we do need rain over here though as I think when Summer starts in December the fires will start too...
Date: 8/19/2023 8:02:00 PM  From Authorid: 48250    Hi dear Ginger! It’s cooled down here in the Mountains of Kentucky tonight, but I’ve heard we’re supposed to have much hotter humid temps this upcoming week, but I truly hope not! It’s been a hot Summer, but we’ve also gotten quite a lot of rain, too——- a real good thing! I have been noticing the early signs of Fall/Autumn though, with so many. Noticeable changes & some a little more subtle..ironweeds, goldenrods, queen Anne’s Lace blooming, the days getting shorter, now—-nights like tonight, getting cooler———I hope both You & Rahman are doing very well & have been enjoying Your Summer——& staying cool in this current heat——Much love to You both! T/C

Date: 8/24/2023 1:35:00 AM  From Authorid: 18516    I rotate my ice packs. The Georgia heat/humidity is downright miserable. I stay indoors with fans on and the AC going. Can't wait for cooler temps to arrive!
Date: 8/24/2023 7:28:00 AM  From Authorid: 3835    We've hit 98 degrees here with a "real feel" as they call it of 113. Past couple of days have been blistery for Wisconsin. We're used to average summer temps around 70-80 that last about 7-12 days and then back to mid 70's. Been crazy to read 76 degrees at 5:30 in the morning though too, used to seeing that around 50-60. We actually have condensation on our windows from the air conditioner on one side and the heat banging to get in, LOL.
Date: 8/24/2023 6:01:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Ginger It's still sweltering down here and the grass is dying, too. 100's all week and no end in sight. Your post drew out folks I hadn't read in years and that is cool. Hello, you all! Good to read you! Stay cool.
Date: 8/26/2023 12:42:00 AM  From Authorid: 63219    Staying hydrated and taking cold showers (Especially after outdoor work or exercises), when I'm not inclined to give into taking a nice hot bath. Lol. From Virginia.
