What's the most difficult thing about your job?

I know I've been posting a lot of these discussion-style stories, but I lack creativity as of late. But I was sitting down after work last night thinking about the events of yesterday. One thing that is hard about my position, and for those who don't know and haven't yet seen my profile I am a Bus Dispatcher/Customer Service Representative for a Department of Transportation entity. But the hard part about this job is when you know a friend isn't coming back to work because they're getting terminated due to their attendance record. Yesterday one of my good friends at work was a no-call/no-show and it is apparently his final straw I didn't know he had a record for attendance until last night. It was made very clear that he would not be welcomed back to work after this chaos he caused us yesterday due to not showing up. This did put a lot of stress on me and my dispatch partner as well as our boss and our supervisor with being unable to fill the run.

In any job you've had, and as always I don't need juicy details about the job or what it entailed, but what was the most difficult thing about a job you loved? I look forward to seeing what everyone mentions!

~Juniper

I've had an awful lot of different jobs in my life. Some I liked and some I didn't like. One job that I "sorta" liked was driving an amphibious vehicle in the marshes south of New Orleans. I transported supplies, people, and pretty much anything needed, from a river, across the marshes, to a highway. I got to run a pretty cool piece of machinery, saw lots of wildlife and met interesting people BUT the insects were horrible. Mosquitoes, gnats, horse and deer flies, flies that looked like a common house fly that would bite and almost impossible to swat. I got a little relief in the winter, but the warm months were awful.

Date: 6/30/2023 3:42:00 AM  From Authorid: 54570    The worst part of my job. I work farm maintaince on hog houses. when the drain lines get blocked from thick manure or a carcass hung up in them I am the one they send to clean them out and get the barns draining again. Luckily the facilities have showers so I am afforded some relief in the afternoon. IN the summer or heat it is ten times worse to clean.

Date: 7/1/2023 3:51:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 67845    That's unique Joe. I bet those showers are nice when you need them. That's legitimately a job I don't think I could ever do.

LOL Larry yeah, that makes our difficult times far less taxing.

Thanks for the responses ~Juniper
Date: 7/1/2023 7:15:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Smokin' Joe I can relate, brother. After a day baiting up and hauling in crab pots, my clothes will stand in a corner by themselves. Blood, dead fish, and soaked with sweat. Oh, well. Somebody's gotta' do it and we gotta' eat. Right on.....
Date: 7/18/2023 11:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 64942    I had a floral delivery job I love, but my boss was very young and immature, and she was sleeping with one of the employees and would ask me to give him hours so she could be around him.
