Trying Days

Today was definitely one of the most trying days I've had as a dispatcher thus far. Buses breaking down, tree branches in the middle of the highway, accidents all over the place (Thankfully none involving my drivers) and the phone wouldn't stop ringing for customer service calls. Though it was a trying day, I learned that I am much more patient than I give myself credit for.

What was one of your most trying days in life? I look forwards to seeing the responses!

Date: 6/26/2023 11:40:00 PM  From Authorid: 998    One of my most trying days was towards the end of moving. We had a large house with lots of boxes and furniture and knew we needed help at those final days trying to vacate at the right day.

We hired movers that didn't show up. Then hired more movers that showed up and instead of packing items we specified, they hid lots of stuff behind other stuff staying with the house. My hubby and I had to pull an all-nighter to find all our items and now 'actually' pack them.

Then on the last fully packed truck, we were told the movers only packed and loaded. They didn't go to the destination (25 minutes away) and unload. So the next morning I'm scrambling to find more movers to unpack the large truck.

We were beyond exhausted and so frustrated. But at least we turned the keys over to the new homeowners and got everything to our new home.

Date: 6/27/2023 6:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Juniper I'm so enjoying the surge in activity! I like it! I love it! I want some more of it!

In fact, I catch crabs for a living. I___ Hey! What'd you cut me off for?

"L.D."---Please forgive kronk, Juniper. Half the time, "he knows not what he does."

kronk--What?

"L.D."---See what I mean? (consults privately with kronk)

kronk---I am a commercial crab fisherman. A couple of days ago, I put in six hours hauling crab pots. I tell you now; the heat in the bay, that day, was awful. Ninety six degrees, with a heat index of about one hundred and thirteen. Bright sun and no wind to speak of! HOT

So, I finish up, sell the crabs and stumble back to the hacienda, looking forward to a shower and about fourteen hours of A/C, before I have to do it all again the next day.

"L.D."---You're such a whinner.

kronk---Do you mind?

"L.D."---Sorry. Please proceed.

kronk---Thank you. Anyway, I submit my report to "The Captain," who asks me did I save six dozen large, for his special friend. Of course, I forgot and had to get right back in the boat (and the brutal heat) for another four hours. Ugh!
