Just keep at it and I think you'll do just fine....The only celebrated writer that I've ever wrote to was the late "Anne Rice." I was working nightshift and things were slow, so I checked out her website and since there was an e-mail address, I figured; what the heck, and wrote her an e-mail. I never expected a reply, but fifteen minutes later I actually received one. She said she was at a condo, somewhere around Panama City, Fla and working on a book. I'll never forget what she wrote: "If you want to write well, then you should write, write and then, write some more." Go for it, Jimmy! Write on.... |
Date: 3/24/2023 11:23:00 AM From Authorid: 16131 Congrats on finally sitting down and getting the job done. The only advice I could give you (being someone who has a rough time taking a story and trying to expand it to book length) is do not get discouraged. It took you this long to get around to it so don't try to rush it now. Make sure you format the book correctly (make sure there is a table of contents and appendix) or publishers will get snotty. I found that out when trying to get my cryptozoology book published. Do not get discouraged if you do not find a commercial publisher. Barnes and Noble will publish your book at no cost to you. The will sell it on their site and in their stores and give you a small portion of the profits. I hope that helps. |
