You didn’t even mean to
But, that day you stole my heart.
With just one sentence you spoke;
My whole world just fell apart.

There’s a light that I can see
Yet it seems so far away.
How have I become so distant?
It seems I lost myself that day.

The passion I once had
For what seemed the most important.
It was swept away from me,
And has now become dormant.

I forgot what I had been fighting for.
My passion was swept away.
Clarity, yet confusion began
And no longer could I stay.

It was never yours to take.
Now I’m left with a burning desire
Of something I can never possess;
Each day brings me, deeper into distress.

I must restore the balance
Before my heart begins to break
Even though I wish it was,
My heart was never yours to take.
