Bernie was here and is our friend.
We became family but today it had to end.
No more watching over us as we could safely sleep.
She came to us sick but took us as her's to keep.
Her kind would run her away, but we brought her into our hearts.
But God needed another sweet soul when she taught us who we are.
We had her for just the blink of an eye but we'll miss her for all time.
Never before had we met a stork who was sweet or even kind.
Everything said goodbye without anything making a sound.
Everything paid it's reverence and sorrow and we all walked softly on her ground.
I will not be sad her suffering ended but celebrating that she lived and was my friend.
I will only miss her until she keeps her promise to fly me home on the day I see her again.
Goodbye for now my friend but you're still here with me.
And everyone else whose heart you touched and that you never allowed to be lonely.
We are all glad that you were here and that you'll never be hungry or alone again.
