It’s also fun to go back and look at older posts you made as well as other authors who might be lurking about from time to time. Just the other day I was looking at a Xmas catalog from a couple years ago to get me inspired to start my shopping list early…. |

...every once in a while I drift back to an earlier time when this place was a madhouse. Remembering all of the old characters, nemeses, jokesters and other great people. They seem somehow immortal here. A quick reread puts you right back in the moment. |

Hey Larry I always wanted the Shetland pony in the Sears Christmas Catalog. Mother kept telling me that we didn't have room for no horse. I'd always counter with, "But Mom, it's a pony, not a horse." "L.D."---I can relate, I always wanted the crate filled with 48 baby chickens. Your Mother would tell me that she couldn't afford to feed so many chickens and I would tell her, "Who said anything about feeding `em, I'll have `em all eaten up the same day they arrive." |

Hekler Well said, my friend. I remember those days, too. The only way that I survived my day job, was logging on and joining in. I miss those days, yes. That thing about immortality, was like, profound. Write on "L.D."---I agree, Hekler. Way to say it, man. Yo, you got any extra moose? Kronk---Ugh! |

Date: 3/4/2023 9:02:00 AM From Authorid: 16131 You are not off for that my friend. I know in my case though, I do not always know how I "should" respond when people are kind enough to leave me any comments or feedback. Generally speaking, if someone says something kind or is giving me some polite criticism I privately message them a thank you which I have fallen short of in the last 2 or 3 years because my time online is very limited. I would like to take this opportunity though to thank you and all of the other great people who have been commenting on my writing over the years and for being so kind. I miss the old days out here when it was much more like a home. Now this place is a revered institution of sorts that has lost a lot of great characters from our past. It is a shame that this place shrank rather than flourished but we all still have each other to straggle with at the end of the day. I still love the way you bring thoughts to light. |

ScareCrow76 Thank you and you are most welcomed. I often think back to those times, also. I was such an introvert that I was overwhelmed by getting comments, and all the unaccustomed to attention. That was good, but we are still here and I still find it all very interesting. Write on.... |
