How To Traumatize A Cat

There is a mysterious figure prowling the streets with a seemingly harmless but bizarre intention: The Cat Shaver of Coventry

. A number of cats in the West Midlands city have been targeted by the unknown perpetrator since 2021, who shaves large perfect squares into their fur. The latest victim, six-year-old Tallulah, is the first in more than a year. Her owner Bonnie Towe, who lives in the suburb of Radford, said she noticed the bald patch when her daughter picked up the beloved pet. ‘I thought maybe she licked the fur off her stomach or she had itchy skin,’ she said. ‘But once we lay her back we noticed it is quite a big patch and it was a perfectly cut square. It felt prickly like it had been shaved off. ‘It had been done quite carefully as well, as her stomach didn’t look sore or cut.’ Her concern is Tallulah may have been ‘marked’ by a criminal who could set out to attack her in the future.

‘At first we didn’t suspect anything different, we don’t carry her often, she doesn’t like to be carried. She wasn’t missing or anything. ‘We did notice she wasn’t going out quite as much, she mostly sits at home and looks out the window.’

There is no indication previous targets of the cat shaver have come to any harm. The last time the shaver struck in Coventry was October 2021, when Andrea Wilson’s pet Daisy came home with a significant amount of fur missing. Her shock was compounded by confusion when her Facebook post about the event drew out a number of other locals who said similar things had happened to them.

Nearby resident Rebecca Keogh said her cats Shelby and Smudge were targeted, with one of them left ‘completely shaved apart from his head and feet

’. At the time, a spokesperson for charity Cats Protection warned: ‘Shaving and cutting the fur or whiskers of a cat can make a cat feel very stressed

...I sent Chief Bigwiggins (or whatever they call their top cop) in Coventry
this simple solution: Look for a guy wearing a toupee that looks like a tile floor but furrier.

This HAS to stop.

If this was in the U.S. it wouldn't be going on for
too long before some cat busted a cap in his behind.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't cats allowed to
open carry a firearm without a permit in most states?

Date: 1/16/2023 4:12:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940    Not only cats, but recently a six year old child shot their elementary school teacher.
Date: 1/16/2023 12:21:00 PM  From Authorid: 5301

...in the child's defense, may I state that the teacher was asking for it?

Date: 1/16/2023 4:09:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Hey Larry I actually like cats.

"L.D."---I don't.

kronk---Yeah, well, with you it's a "species thing." I have fond memories of my younger years "on the bayou," catching undersized panfish and tossing `em over my
shoulder to our eleven cats. Those cats really loved me.

"L.D."---I'd love you to, if you bothered to feed me.

kronk---Ugh!

Date: 1/16/2023 4:16:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Coventry...Who do we know in Coventry? Isn't that where "Jack the Ripper," hung out?

kronk---No, dog. The ripper was in London. You must be thinking about "Sid the Shaver." He still lives in Coventry.

"L.D."---Is Sid still active, these days?

kronk---It would appear so.

...oh yeah! Sid! I remember him from many years ago when he was just a little shaver.

...hey! Did you know that today is the 88th anniversary of Ma Barker's death?
She had moved to Florida and it ended up being unhealthy for her.

Date: 1/17/2023 9:43:00 AM  From Authorid: 998    Wow, someone has far too much time on their hands. Cats usually don't really care too much about fashionably social fur styling.

Now if this person really wants to make a statement ... go find an overgrown sheep dog or a wooly sheep that needs some decorative sheering !!!

Date: 1/19/2023 6:27:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Hekler Ma Barker, eh? Now, there's a name I haven't heard in about 88 years.

"L.D."---Yeah...I knew this "Catahoula Cur Dog" named Clovis. Clovis claimed that he led the FBI to the hideout.

kronk---Really? Why'd the dog rat on the Barkers?

"L.D."---"They" (the FBI) offered Clovis a side of "Colby Beef," and I guess Clovis decided that "the price was right."

kronk---Ugh!

Date: 1/19/2023 6:30:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Ginger I love the term "decorative shearing." I may have to try some of that on "L.D."

"L.D."---Don't touch me!
