The Death Of Marcus Merritt Sr

On 1-3-2023 Mja staff members Mark & Missy left Hudson Florida at 5:30pm & arrived in Katy Texas on 1-4-2023 at 2:00pm..

After checking into the Hotel Mja contacted our Client Miss Royce who is the Mother of the Victim Marcus Merritt Sr..

On 1-5-2023 Mja was Honored to meet Miss Royce who met us at the Hotel & we went out to dinner..

After dinner Mja followed Miss Royce to her home where we visited & talked about what Mja will be doing during our visit..

We met with our Client Miss Royce starting around 2pm on the 6th-7th & 8th where we also had dinner together every night..

Mja was very Honored to meet the Victim's oldest son & his Family..

On 1-9-2023 Mja checked out of the Hotel at around 9:30am & drove to Leonville Louisiana which was 4 hours away from our location where the Victim was found dead in his home..

We arrived in Leonville around 2pm & visited the locations & checked in to our Hotel around 3pm & contacted our Client..

On 1-10-2023 we checked out of the Hotel around 9am & drove to the Leonville Police Station which was 30 minutes away from our location..

We met with Police Chief Noel..

Mja Investigator : Mark went over our concerns about the death of Mr.Merritt & why..

Chief Noel seemed surprised at the evidence that the Louisiana State Police had turned over to Mja on a Flash-Drive..

Chief Noel had turned over the case to the State Police because of our Clients e-mails & phone calls..

After Chief Noel turned over the case to the State Police they never kept him in the loop..

Chief Noel wasnt involved in any of the details when Mr.Merritts body was exhumed & the State Police Investigation that followed..

The last time Chief Noel had contact with the State Police concerning the case was in June 2016 when the Chief gave them a statement concerning when Chief Noel arrived at the death scene..

Mja ended the meeting after about 35 minutes..

The meeting with Chief Noel went very well & we learned alot from each other..

Chief Noel understands that Mja might return to meet with him again if needed..

Chief Noel said his door is alway open to us..

In the Police Station parking lot Mja called the ST.Landry Parish Sheriff's Department..

The Sheriff was in court all day..

Our next stop was Opelousas Louisiana about 30 minutes from our location to meet with the DA of St Landry Parish..

The DA of St Landry Parish was tied up in court also..

I want to add that Mja has been contacting the DA since 2014..

The acting DA has known since mid-December that Mja wanted to meet with him & was told when we would be at his Office..

No reply..

The only reply we have ever gotten is the old DA called Mja Investigator Mark & accused him of paying someone to write a report about the Death Room Photo's in our favor..

The old DA also asked who wrote & filed the petition to have Mr.Merritt Exhumed..

Mja Investigator Mark told the DA that he wrote & filed the paper work the DA called him a liar..

Mja Investigator advised that the DA shouldnt worry about who done the paper work..

The DA should be concerned with whats in the Death Room Report & that we had enough Just-Cause that a Judge signed the order to have Mr.Merritt exhumed..

I want to also add that our Client Miss Royce had gotten the same call from the DA & was accused of paying someone to write the Death Room Report in her favor..

When our Client answered that she never paid no one & that she had never met or spoken to the person that wrote the Report..

But at the help desk Mja was told how to use the chain of command to cement a meeting with the DA which we will follow up on..

Our next stop was the Louisiana State Police Headquarters in Baton Rouge Louisiana 90 minutes from our location..

The Trooper at the front desk was told why Mja was there & who we needed to talk too..

The Trooper told Mja we needed Troop I in Lafayette Louisiana & gave of us the needed contact Info..

Mja called Troop I & the people we needed to talk to had moved on to other places..

Mja was told by the Trooper we was speaking with that he would pass on our Info & a Detective would be assigned to hear our concerns which our first call was today..

Mja left Baton Rouge around 3pm on 1-10-2023 & arrived home in Hudson Florida at 1:55am & text our Client Miss Royce to set up a phone meeting on 1-11-2023 at 2pm..

Taking everything into account--we had hoped to get more done & talk to more people but as a whole things went very well..

The people we were able to talk to was very professional & took great concern in pointing Mja in the right direction..

All parties involved has been told for the last 6 years that if our concerns about Mr.Merritt's death wasnt addressed that Mja would just show up on their door-step..

Well we kept our Promise !!!
