Late night rides
To clear our still growing minds
Our hearts full of heaviness
And wild desires
It was just you and I
On this long drive

You'd hum along
Night sky guiding us to an unknown destination
Where we didn't expect to say goodbye
Beams from the passerbys illuminate your eyes
God you were so beautiful
Holding your hand tightly I whisper three little words
And you'd smile
We finally stop, looking at the city below
You hold me close and had to come clean
How you felt and who you've seen
Crushed by this avalanche of unexpected truths
Your love became a poison in my veins
Turning me into an addict enslaved to the power you held
Constantly taking me on this drive
Up the hill, just to leave me to climb back down alone
Begging and pleading for more
And you whisper three little words
Wrap your vines around my heart
Squeeze me dry, barely alive
Dragged my body to the top for another lesson in pain
But I turned to you and said what I had to say
Took the wheel, accelerated the gas
Our bodies dove through the glass
Faded amongst the cityscape
The sky lights illuminated your eyes
One final time
Cold and dead
Just like that heart in your chest
