Hi USM *waves*

I like to stop in from time to time reminisce :) This place popped in my head earlier today, so I figured I would stop in and say hello. So, hello!!

It’s hard to believe how many years I have been coming here. It’s nice to know that some things do not change, I enjoy the blast from the past every time I come to visit. A lot of things have changed throughout the years. When I first became a member here, I was 14 years old. Next month I will be turning 35. It doesn’t seem like was that long ago.

How is everyone doing? I’ve been Ok..ish. I started a new job last year with Willoway Nurseries. We are among the top rated in our industry in the U.S. :) I’m an assistant grower and I really enjoy my job and the company I work for. I prayed and wished for so long for a good job. Not only did I find one, I found one that I truly enjoy. There is a lot of room for growth in this industry and I’m excited to see where my career will take me :D

My husband and I have been married for almost two years now. This year has been challenging for us, but we are getting through it. We decided in October of last year that we wanted to start a family. The road has been rocky. We found out we both have fertility issues. I was actually going to have surgery back in September to hopefully help with the issues, but my husband got injured at work and has been home for the past three months. He had a complete tear of the ACL and meniscus AND fractured his tibia! There was no way we could afford for both of us to be off of work. My leave would have been unpaid, and it’s hard enough with only one income coming in. Workers comp finally got their act together and we received a compensation check this week. It came at just the right time and it helped ease some of the financial burden off my shoulders. His case goes up for review next week, and we are hoping he will be back to work sometime in February. We hope to pick up where we left off at with fertility treatments once my husband is back to work. I’m really hoping for a child by the time I’m 40. I figured I would have kids by now, but I guess the universe thought it would be better if I was older.

Aside from all that, I started an antidepressant about 6 weeks ago and I am feeling the best I have felt since my late teens! The change is drastic and was from one extreme to the other. While I’m not complaining about feeling “normal”, it has been hard for me to deal with because I felt so bad for so long. It’s just kind of hard to process, so I have been meeting with a therapist every other week for about 5 weeks. I enjoy the sessions and I feel that I am benefiting from them.

That’s pretty much it as far as an update goes. I hope you all are well and healthy :)

Date: 11/12/2022 2:57:00 AM  From Authorid: 5940    Welcome back! This year I turned 63……enjoy your youth and know that life is like a roller coaster with its ups and downs, twists and turns. But enjoy the ride while it lasts. Hope that things continue to be great at your job, because when you enjoy your job then it’s not work.

Life is good!

Date: 11/12/2022 3:04:00 AM  From Authorid: 998    It is always so great to hear from you. I remember back in the days when there were so many kids and teens finding this place. It was not uncommon for us to receive messages from parents thanking us for having a safe and well run website for their kids to visit.

You were certainly one of the teens who helped make this place so nice.

It sure doesn't seem like so many years have passed. Gosh, it doesn't even seem like 2 years since you got married. Good to hear that your making it through too. To get through the easy times is a piece of cake, but to weather the storms when things get tough takes a lot more. I hope your hubby is healing from his injuries. I will keep you both in my prayers especially for your hopes of babies to come. They add such an immeasurable amount to your lives.

Best of luck to you on the medication. Depression is such a hard thing to fight. Our daughter struggled with it as she became a teenager. She's been through several medication changes over the years because sometimes it seems the mind gets to used to one and it stops working so well. Stay the course, because there are many treatments that can help you stay more normal.

Date: 11/12/2022 6:30:00 AM  From Authorid: 55251     Hi OG! You and I arrived here around the same time and age. I resonate with what you said about USM. Time flies.

I think being "ok..ish" is normal for us millennials. It's extremely hard for young people to get ahead in life. Almost all of my friends of similar age have concerns with depression and/or anxiety. I am also not immune. I've been on antidepressants for a while and I'm glad to hear they are working for you. I'm also happy to hear that you found a job you truly enjoy! That's wonderful. Wishing you all the best.

and trying to keep up maintenance on my old equipment. I sent E. Musk an e-mail, asking for a low (or no) interest loan, but I've not heard anything
back from him, yet. Anyway, I hope that everything works out for you. Keep the faith! Write on.....
