To Bee, or Not To Bee. Or Pay The Rent

A woman is accused of using bees to attack members of the Hampden County Sheriff's Department as they attempted to enforce an eviction at a Longmeadow home.

On October 12, deputies said Rorie Susan Woods, 55, of Hadley, pulled up to the scene of an ongoing eviction on Memery Lane.

The woman left her dog in the car and walked over to "manufactured bee hives" that she was towing behind her SUV. Woods allegedly began trying to open lids to release the bees.

The Sheriff's Department said deputies tried to stop Woods, but the agitated bees began circling the area, so they backed off.

Woods allegedly then smashed a lid and flipped a hive off the trailer, causing the bees to swarm. Several officers and bystanders were stung.

Deputies said Woods put on a professional beekeeper suit to protect herself as she carried a tower of bees near the front door of the home in an attempt to stop the eviction.

Sheriff Nick Cocchi said in a statement that Woods "put lives in danger as several of the staff on scene are allergic to bees."

"We had one staff member go the hospital and luckily, he was alright or she would be facing manslaughter charges," Cocchi said. "I support people's right to protest peacefully but when you cross the line and put my staff and the public in danger, I promise you will be arrested."

Woods was arrested on four counts of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, three counts of assault by means of a dangerous weapon, and one count of disorderly conduct.

"Never in all my years of leading the Hampden County Sheriff's Civil Process Division have I seen something like this," Robert Hoffman, Chief Deputy of the Civil Process Office said.

...more of a fence post lately.

Date: 10/24/2022 5:37:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    What? Are you kidding me? Now, bees are a dangerous weapon? What next?

"L.D."---Ugh! I, for one, "know" that bees can be extremely dangerous. I was scavenging a bison carcass, up in Nebraska, sometime in the 18th century, and I was
accosted by a massive "Tropical Carpenter Bee." That thing tried to bore a hole in my skull.

kronk---Wait a minute! I don't think that those kind of bees were ever native to Nebraska.

"L.D."---Oh, well maybe I was in Cambodia. Anyway, that encounter put me down for two whole days.If "The Chief of Canada" hadn't come along when "she" did, the
bloody leaches would have bleed me dry.

kronk---You're just making that all up, aren't you?

"L.D."---It's a lot more interesting story than what really happened to me today.

kronk---I don't know? When that crab got hold of your nose, you screamed like a little girl dog. That was pretty funny.

"L.D."---Ugh!

Date: 10/24/2022 5:54:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Hey Larry I wonder who the person was that was being evicted? Seems to me that would be the key to her defense.

"L.D."---Yeah! The person being evicted could have been a ninety-five year old "veteran of a foreign war" and Rorie Susan may have just been sympathetic to their
plight.

kronk---I suppose that's possible. Who do we know that could accept such a case, and actually win it.

"L.D."---"Kamala" is doing anything, these days, is she?

kronk---"They" said she's studying to become a stand up comic.

"L.D."---With that laugh, she'll make a good one. I wonder if "Hillary" is still practicing?

kronk--Ugh! Practicing what?

Date: 10/24/2022 6:00:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    I miss "Tom Petty."

"L.D."---"Do be a do bee; don't be a don't bee."

kronk---You got it, dog!

Date: 10/24/2022 6:12:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Hey Larry Speaking of "Emily Post." Did you happen to catch the photo shoot with "Martha Stewart," at eighty-one?

"L.D."---I like her. She gave me leftover "one pan pasta" back in Chicago, in `86.

kronk---I thought you only ate meat.

"L.D."---I'd eat anything for Martha.

kronk---??????

Date: 10/25/2022 4:52:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940    Well, at least they weren’t “ Killer” bees…..
Date: 10/25/2022 4:59:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940    Nah you two, I suspect it has something to do with those climate change activists that like to glue themselves to whatever is available while protesting their cause. The Idiot convention known as the mid terms is a few weeks away yet.
Date: 10/25/2022 5:04:00 AM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 5940    No, can’t say I did . ( sigh of relief) I do remember that fantastic layout where she redecorated her prison cell and whipped up the best Thanksgiving meal for the fellow convicts at her stay at Club Fed. Why things went so smoothly they made Martha a “ trusty” as well as the Warden’s personal stock advisor.
Date: 10/26/2022 5:08:00 PM  From Authorid: 21435    Hey Larry Who loves "the climate" more than me? I mean, I love the "Four Seasons," the steeps of Mongolia, and I am growing fonder, by the day, of "The Great
White North." BUT, I think that "if" our efforts to "control" the climate are successful, at all, it will take a concerted effort by ALL the countries
on the globe.

"L.D."---Really? How likely is that to happen?

kronk---Well, you and I might see it happen, but most of the mortals alive in the world, today? I wouldn't hold my breath.

"L.D."---Oh, so we woke up feeling "cryptic," today?

kronk---Forget about that. Do you think that Martha had anything on under that apron?

"L.D."---Ugh! You betta' watch your mouth, talking about Martha that away. I'll bite you! GRRRRRR...

kronk---OUCH!
