Date: 9/27/2022 6:58:00 AM From Authorid: 55251 I haven't watched a movie in theatre in quite a long time. The last time I was there it was ~$30 for popcorn and some snacks. $30! That's much more frightening than any horror movie. But, honestly, new releases rarely seem to appeal to me anymore (so many super hero movies or remakes/reboots). I think the newest movie I really enjoyed was "1914" (2019). I highly recommend! |

Space Case I can dig it, lady. I honestly believe that censorship has it's place. Knowing, seeing or, even just "implying it all," takes some of the fun out of life. In my humble opinion, anyway. Take care of you. |

I truly don't think 'it is just you' Spacey. George and I have been so disappointed with movies, that we don't go to the theaters anymore. Well, we would go if the movie were one of those huge blockbusters that really needs 'the big screen' to do the film justice. But it seems those kind of movies are once in a decade anymore. In thinking about it, I do miss the 'date night' hubby and I would share several times a month <---- back in the day. Choosing a matinee, a bucket of popcorn (free refills), smuggled favorite candy ... and the whole shabang was about $10 for both of us (10-15 years ago). Ticket prices went up, and soda and popcorn got more expensive, so getting our money's worth from a film seemed to get more important. Then a few boring flicks with more garbage acting and story lines, and we stopped going. Now we have cable, netflix, FireStick ... and we start watching movies all the time that can't even keep our attention for 10 minutes. Many times we force ourselves to stick it out thinking, the movie HAS to get better. I mean, look at all the highly paid actors and big time director or writer. Sheesh, what has happened to entertainment these days ??? We get to the final credits, shake our heads and say ... "well, thats 2 hours we waisted". I agree with you Space Case, it leaves us with anguish to see what has become to our once loved cinema. |
Date: 9/29/2022 3:11:00 AM From Authorid: 998 ... *sneaks in the backdoor and whispers* ... Spacey, message me the name of the film. I'm pretty sure I don't want to waste a moment on it. Thanks |
