Hello, It's Me (tell me, did you hear the song? If not, you are a lot younger than me!)

Howdy from the heart of the Brazos Valley! It has been a long time. I am Stacie, otherwise known as SpaceCase, and this is, perhaps, the first time I have ever made a post from a phone! HA HA. And the first time in MANY years, that I have made a post.

Did I say it has been a long time?!

I joined this group after my third-born was born...just a bit after 9-11-01..

I found a unique place to share my thoughts with people who had, in some cases, experienced the same things as I had...back then. I am so much older now . I do recognize and acknowledge my past experiences, but I also want to acknowledge how this site helped me grow This is the place where I hashed out my feelings, my experiences, and my darkest and brightest thought. I believe that this is a part (USM) of what helped me to get to where I am today! Well, God and USM...HAHA

TODAY, nearly 22 years later, or such, I am a divorced mother of four boys, and owner of the tiniest burger shack in Texas. I live in a container-home with the true love of my life. His name is Roger Lee, but he would require a whole separate post, because he is that special and dear to me! He built our home in a matter of 2 months, 3 years ago. Or maybe 2...I am no good with time...

I am not sure, at this point where I left off, but after being a house flipper for a few years (remodeling, etc.), I got into plants and gardening , raising fowl and bunnies and then plant/animal sales. I also, around that time, created my own all-natural skincare line (long story), and then, the big D. 2 Right before my divorc, I became partners with a gal and we opened Yellow Prairie Emporium, a Gift and Country store that was doomed to fail, I guess.

But, from that, was born my own business, Front Street Burgers! We (as in me and all my personalities) are located in Chriesman, Texas! Google that, haha!! Once upon a time, this town was bigger than Caldwell! But now we are just an echo of progress...a quaint reminder of the past!

None the less, I am here and attempting to thrive in this insane political and economical climate. And I truly believe none of this would be possible without having been a part of USM, back in the day. I just needed to say that.

P.S. Thank you, Ginger for helping log back in! I will likely be back!

How it changed my life:

Because of this website I was able to find and exercise my own voice and was able to find myself in this new world.

...my darkest thought was also my brightest thought.
I don't have much of a repertoire.

Always great to see USM alumni come back again and
shake things up a bit.

It sounds like you don't give up easily.

Good to see you back.

...be wary of Hey Larry and his venomous rumors.

(that was the name of his garage band)
Until the garage collapsed.
He then went solo.

...I never really liked the song "Hello, It's Me"

Sure, one day you get a call and the caller says
"Hello, It's Me" and you think it's someone else
and end up giving all your credit card information
out and before you know it, the bank forecloses
on your home and you have to move into a refrigerator
box. It has happened to me all too often.

Date: 8/20/2022 4:38:00 AM  From Authorid: 5940    Welcome back Space Case! Sounds like your burger business is doing well,” I like mine with lettuce and tomato , Heinz 57 and French fried potatoes.Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer. Well good God almighty which way do I steer?”

Date: 8/20/2022 7:31:00 AM  From Authorid: 55251    SpaceCase! Long time no see! I certainly remember you. Thank you for sharing your story with us. You are a courageous and resilient person. I am happy to hear that you are doing well and thriving. Texas is a long way from Canada, but if I'm ever down that way, I'll certainly stop by your burger joint and ask for the USM discount
Date: 8/20/2022 9:12:00 AM  From Authorid: 21435    Space Case "Well, burn my biscuits;" ifin it ain't my long lost daughter dear! You could have knocked me over with a feather, when I saw this post. Sounds like
you are thriving.(Of course, I'm not surprised. You just seemed to be "the type."

"L.D."---You act as though you know this lady?

kronk---Of course I know Stacie. She is the first and only USM site member that I have ever met, in person. Oh, Stacie; since we last wrote, I have be-friended
myself a "talking dog." His name is Light Emitting Diode, but everyone just calls him "L.D." for short. He is an Australian Shepherd/collie mix. Some folk
call his breed a "Texas Heeler." He is more red than blue.

"L.D."---Happy to read you SpaceCase! I'm actually more like kronk's "service dog." he definitely bears watching.

kronk---I'm feeling a serious need for a quality hamburger! Take care of you, sweetheart. Write on.....

Date: 8/22/2022 1:36:00 AM  From Authorid: 998    OK ... now I'm pretty jealous. You met Kronk, and Kronk met you in real life ... wow. Your 2 of the alumni that I certainly would like to meet too.

So wonderful Stacie to know that this community was part of your life in a great way. As soon as we opened the doors, we started seeing how incredible these friendships could be. We are so very glad we gave a place for your voice.

You wouldn't guess just how much USM helped me get over shyness. For the first few months I was just one of many lurkers on the site and in chat. Just watching from the sidelines until one of our USM-ers decided to turn 'detective' and figure out who I was. She put some puzzle pieces together and her light bulb moment in a busy chat room 'outed' me as the owner of this site. I couldn't deny it, and the rest is history. I've met more than 100 USM-ers in person and shyness is never a problem.

I love this place and the people here. I hope we get to see you more often Stacie. You are one of the people who helped make this place the friendly place it is. *Hugs*

Date: 8/22/2022 8:56:00 AM  From Authorid: 21435    Ginger SpaceCase came and visit me in the hospital when I had back surgery. She really is a sweet lady. Felt like I'd known her all my life. I went and visit her
after she gave birth, a little while later. I am seriously considering making it to "Front Street Burgers," in the near future. Hopefully, we'll all "get
together at the river," one day.
