...my darkest thought was also my brightest thought. I don't have much of a repertoire. Always great to see USM alumni come back again and shake things up a bit. It sounds like you don't give up easily. Good to see you back. |

...be wary of Hey Larry and his venomous rumors. (that was the name of his garage band) Until the garage collapsed. He then went solo. |

...I never really liked the song "Hello, It's Me" Sure, one day you get a call and the caller says "Hello, It's Me" and you think it's someone else and end up giving all your credit card information out and before you know it, the bank forecloses on your home and you have to move into a refrigerator box. It has happened to me all too often. |

Date: 8/20/2022 7:31:00 AM From Authorid: 55251 SpaceCase! Long time no see! I certainly remember you. Thank you for sharing your story with us. You are a courageous and resilient person. I am happy to hear that you are doing well and thriving. Texas is a long way from Canada, but if I'm ever down that way, I'll certainly stop by your burger joint and ask for the USM discount |

Space Case "Well, burn my biscuits;" ifin it ain't my long lost daughter dear! You could have knocked me over with a feather, when I saw this post. Sounds like you are thriving.(Of course, I'm not surprised. You just seemed to be "the type." "L.D."---You act as though you know this lady? kronk---Of course I know Stacie. She is the first and only USM site member that I have ever met, in person. Oh, Stacie; since we last wrote, I have be-friended myself a "talking dog." His name is Light Emitting Diode, but everyone just calls him "L.D." for short. He is an Australian Shepherd/collie mix. Some folk call his breed a "Texas Heeler." He is more red than blue. "L.D."---Happy to read you SpaceCase! I'm actually more like kronk's "service dog." he definitely bears watching. kronk---I'm feeling a serious need for a quality hamburger! Take care of you, sweetheart. Write on..... |

OK ... now I'm pretty jealous. You met Kronk, and Kronk met you in real life ... wow. Your 2 of the alumni that I certainly would like to meet too. So wonderful Stacie to know that this community was part of your life in a great way. As soon as we opened the doors, we started seeing how incredible these friendships could be. We are so very glad we gave a place for your voice. You wouldn't guess just how much USM helped me get over shyness. For the first few months I was just one of many lurkers on the site and in chat. Just watching from the sidelines until one of our USM-ers decided to turn 'detective' and figure out who I was. She put some puzzle pieces together and her light bulb moment in a busy chat room 'outed' me as the owner of this site. I couldn't deny it, and the rest is history. I've met more than 100 USM-ers in person and shyness is never a problem. I love this place and the people here. I hope we get to see you more often Stacie. You are one of the people who helped make this place the friendly place it is. *Hugs* |

Ginger SpaceCase came and visit me in the hospital when I had back surgery. She really is a sweet lady. Felt like I'd known her all my life. I went and visit her after she gave birth, a little while later. I am seriously considering making it to "Front Street Burgers," in the near future. Hopefully, we'll all "get together at the river," one day. |
