Why I had a blessed childhood

Until the age of about 5 we lived in a rural area of NZ, nice house, creek down the back to play in then we moved to a 20 acre farm not far away. We had sheep, goats, chooks, it was a lovely house. Me and my brothers would spend weekends catching eels in the neighbours creek. We would catch a bus to primary from one of our gates and I loved the school I went to. After school we would go to the dairy and buy lollies and take them back to school to hide under the building for the next day, all in all I think I had the best childhood, had two caring parents, it wasn't until my teenage years life really changed when we went to live in Australia.

...things sure did seem simpler back then in our childhoods.
I think all the stuff I ever got up to is probably illegal now.

...Hey Larry...tell us all about your character building years in the menagerie.

Date: 6/18/2022 3:50:00 PM  From Authorid: 5940    I like the visual that 74 has brought to us, one day I would enjoy visiting New Zealand and Australia.

In response to Hekler’s request, my formative years began in front of a television set which was my babysitter….along with Bugs Bunny cartoons and reruns of The 3 Stooges. It wasn’t long before I realized the road was calling me and 8 soon found myself hitching rides across the Pacific Northwest at the tender age of five, thanks to an elongated thumb and the kindness of truck drivers.

...Hey Larry...there were a lot of B&W (naturally) westerns playing on the TV sets of our family and relatives.
When I got older I heard rumors that the scenes were repeatedly and shamelessly. I began to see it in my head.

"Well I'll be! That's the fifth time Cowboy Bob has been shot off his horse in the last 40 minutes.
I thought those shows were gospel truth when I was just an innocent wee lad. Now I feel cheated.
