It's great to hear of your childhood. Fun memories !!! I too felt like I had a great time in my youth. Two parents that really gave a lot to make life for us 4 kids a great one.  |

I like the visual that 74 has brought to us, one day I would enjoy visiting New Zealand and Australia. In response to Hekler’s request, my formative years began in front of a television set which was my babysitter….along with Bugs Bunny cartoons and reruns of The 3 Stooges. It wasn’t long before I realized the road was calling me and 8 soon found myself hitching rides across the Pacific Northwest at the tender age of five, thanks to an elongated thumb and the kindness of truck drivers.  |

...Hey Larry...there were a lot of B&W (naturally) westerns playing on the TV sets of our family and relatives. When I got older I heard rumors that the scenes were repeatedly and shamelessly. I began to see it in my head. "Well I'll be! That's the fifth time Cowboy Bob has been shot off his horse in the last 40 minutes. I thought those shows were gospel truth when I was just an innocent wee lad. Now I feel cheated. |

Thanks for your comments,glad to know you had good chilhoods too,one thing that impacted me negatively as a kid though was watching the nightly news and seeing the bombing of Vietnam  |
