...Hey 74! It sounds like your brother is a pretty generous guy and is looking after you. I had to do an image search to see what a Skoda Roomstar looked like since I don't officially recognize any car built after 1973. Much to my amazement, it looked exactly the same as what my mind had pictured. I hope you get a lot of use, fun and durability out of it. Your tale also reminded me of another guy here at USM that had recently boasted about the tire swing his family had given to him after he successfully graduated grade 9 but slightly before he ran away with the circus. I'm not naming names. He knows who he is. |
Date: 6/14/2022 9:08:00 PM ( From Author ) From Authorid: 7440 thanks guys,i found out today that it will cost $2000 dolars to get my car roadworthy, something we have to do each year in NZ,so it was good timing getting a new car |

...Oh. You meant your OLD car. The Mitsubishis are good fairly reliable cars but everything wears out eventually. |
Date: 6/15/2022 4:31:00 AM From Authorid: 5940 Hekler: you’re jealous because I bartered said tire swing to get a unicycle when I joined the circus. |

74 Two thousand is not so bad to get a car on the road, these days. I will probably never own a new vehicle, again. Even the cheap ones cost more than I paid for my house. Ride on.... |

Hey Larry I have been seriously considering getting a bicycle. I mean, I don't really go anywhere, anymore. Only problem would be "where to store the ordinance." The streets are getting "mean," down here. |
Date: 6/15/2022 8:24:00 AM From Authorid: 5940 Doesn’t L.D. have any special training? Man’s best friend is duty bound to defend, eh? |

...well la-di-da for Mr. Unicycle. Tell me...does the unicycle have a rack to carry your Samsonite luggage? |

...get a bicycle Kronk. It'll make you feel like a kid again. You've probably got an awesome set of tools right? Build your own ordnance platforms on the fenders and forks. One more thing...if you think the streets are mean now, wait until you go for your first ride after many years. I ride well after it gets dark out these days. Less people for me to hit and fewer that will see me as a target. |

Hey Larry While it is true that "L.D." is indeed an exceptional, highly competent, combatant, he is rather selective as to what, or whom, he "takes the gold from." I could offer dozens of accounts of instances where I was "in a real fix," and all he did was stand to the side, and watch. "L.D."---Hey, man. "You don't pay...and I don't slay." And, you NEVER pay, so... kronk---So, what? "L.D."---So, I just "watch." kronk---Ugh! |
Date: 6/15/2022 11:24:00 AM From Authorid: 5940 Don’t need a luggage rack, I’ve got a red flyer wagon attached to the stem of the cycle seat. |
Date: 6/15/2022 11:41:00 AM From Authorid: 21435 Hekler I do actually enjoy riding a bicycle, but you absolutely correct about the danger of "taking the road," these days. Earlier this year, I did, in fact pick up a pair of 26 inch, girl's 10 speeds. I worked them over and took off far an eight mile cruise on the levee. The scenery was fine and the fresh air did indeed do me good; BUT I couldn't walk well, for a week after. How can anyone tolerate those seats for longer than two minutes? I replaced that thing with a "double extra wide platform seat," and now, I'm good to go....Down here, "the pain freaks" try and see how close they can pass to a moving cyclist. |
