Well, your post flashes me back to a time when I was chastised by family, for giving advice to younger family members. "L.D."---Are you referring to that Christmas, back in Fontana? I thought your cousin Allegra was going to knife you. What, exactly, was she so mad about? kronk---Yeah, Allegra was from Little Rock, and she was a master of the "Arkansas Toothpick." If she wouldn't have been so drunk, she would have probably got me. Anyway, we were all hanging around the punch bowl, talking smack and some one mentioned, "What to do, if you're driving and your car breaks down?" "L.D."---Seems like a pretty straightforward question. I'd say; "get on the cellphone and call for help, flag down a passing motorist, you know, like that." Pray tell, what did "you" offer in the way of a reply to said question? kronk---I told the kids that the best thing to do was, leave the car, run away from the highway, as fast as you can, and try to make your way home, without making contact with another human being. |
