Destruction Is Not My Plan
I grew up in mutual destruction, Fearful in making sense. Weapons of man’s construction, Our survival’s assured defense. Hot and Cold War through my years. History marked by each conflict. Seconds of peace with hours of fears, No future can a world predict. A doomsday clock keeps on ticking. Economies still rise and fall. Young soldiers die on battlefields, Answering their country’s call. Slanted views and slanted news, To control the people’s minds. The biggest lie told to us all: “Don’t worry, there’s plenty of time”! The world exists on it’s own path, It’s natural law to follow. The fate of mankind in another hand, A truth that’s hard to swallow. Mark your years with all your fears, Or love all those you can. Turn strangers to your neighbors, Turn your enemies to your friends, Extend kindness to the poor, See that hunger one day ends! Fears and wars are many. What is the time for man? My fears are gone, My days are long, Learning to love all I can. Destruction, Is not my plan!
